I'm using a refurbished bamboo splash. It's very nice for those who draw for hobby. Smooth, sensitive and portable. I'm able to carry it in a regular backpack with my laptop so I can hook up and draw basically anywhere

Ah. I was interested in getting back into drawing. I use to with pencil/paper a long time ago... would be complete shit now though. What software do you use with your bamboo mostly? Also, did it take you long to get use to using it?

I use Paint Tool Sai It's a very nice program (and I would recommend it over photoshop for hobby users) mainly because photoshop was made as a photo manipulator and SAI was designed FOR artists. It can do almost everything PS can and a bit more. It's user friendly as well and has the same short cut keys as PS. Anything that you need to manipulate about your drawing can just be thrown into adobe for final touches if need be. I've been drawing with a tablet foooor I'd say about three years now? Only recently have I been getting close to how easy/well I draw on paper. By far traditional is still a lot more comfortable to do than trying to translate hand movements to a screen. If you're looking for something closer to pen and paper then a cintiq is what you're looking for. You draw right on the screen which eliminates the hassle of back and forth coordination. Unfortunately they're quite the pretty penny.

Thanks mate... the cintiq is definitely out of my price range given my other hobbies and current finances. I'll check out that software.
