Great, you're got enlisted covered. Where are the officers(CPL-CSM are NCO's)? Also, if you're going to have rank in your clan, it might be wise to institute an actual command hierarchy and limit of control. Not to do so could lead to a top heavy clan of rival CSM's. Just a suggestion. I'm willing to offer insight if it will help.

  • Alright, here goes. Enlisted PVT and SPC are basic fireteam members differentiated by experience in game, character lvl, and maybe gear. This should be the largest group of member ranks. CPL is a basic Explore/Story team leader. Typically someone that can be trusted to help teach the newer members the way the basic PvE part of the game operates. They would lead 2 fireteam members. SGT is a more experienced team leader that would be able to lead a Strike, otherwise exactly the same as the CPL. SSG is a basic squad leader (2, 3 person fireteams). This person would have two fireteam leaders that he/she coordinates during missions. The fireteam leaders then coordinate their teams according to their task organization from the squad leader. A SSG would be for intro lvl Raids and PvP team related events. This keeps the max number of people that need to be coordinated to 2, which helps ensure people don't get out of control when situations get hairy. CSM is a high lvl squad leader for the difficult Raids and possibly any competition PvP. This person would lead 2 SSG and up to 3 SGT or CPL because of the lvl of difficulty, type of gear and experience, and individual player skill required do well in those situations. Officers (basically administrative in nature but can go on missions too) LT - basically a platoon leader, responsible for the assigning fireteams (SSG, SGT and CPL) based on time availability and mission to be executed. Coordinates the assignments of 4 fireteams and 2 Squads. Has the highest number of people to control, but since this is mainly an administrative roll it is less of an issue. CPT - a company commander, coordinates the 3 LT's and informs them when new members come in so they can be acclimated and "trained" by the clan. Also responsible for coordinating PvP. COL - a batallion commander, responsible for doing roll call for low lvl Raids, coordinating 4 CPT's and informing them when enough people are ready for the low lvl Raids. Also responsible for coordinating tournament PvP. General - supreme commanders of troops, resposible for putting out a roll call for high lvl raids and assigning dates and times to assemble to the COL's. Any Officer should be, at the very least, lvl 20 (exception being immediately following launch date) and be able to conduct any mission they desire. If they desire to accompany a group, or even form one of their own, their rank supersedes all enlisted rank and they assume tactical control on the ground (effectively bumping the chain of command down). If they conduct a mission as a group of officers (highly recommended) they follow the basic rank structure detailed for the enlisted to maintain battlefield focus. This will be agreed upon before the mission is executed. All this is subject to change based on what the group can support, but it provides a basic outline for a logical rank structure that ensures top heavy leadership is never really a problem. Is there anything I've left out?

  • Why anyone would want to have such a strict hierarchy for entertainment purposes? All the difficulties with fraternization, promotion, favoritism, and nepotism. ;) Yes, I know these are beyond the scope of your advice.

  • Why would anyone make ranks for a clan in the first place?
