It's no more selfish or entitled than your view of not allowing MM. If anything it's less so because offering MM would not detract from your experience raiding with clans or friends yet you seem happy to impose your preference on others.
Nerfing content is a different topic. I'm all for bungie not nerfing the content, my preferred solution is a disclaimer on matchmaking recommending you organise a raid through forums/clans/wherever but letting you use MM at your own risk. At first a MM group might not have much chance but once the raid has been out for a while the tactics needed will be known and it wont be as special an achievement anyway.
TLDR - Allow people the choice of MM, don't nerf the content and if MM raids are as bad as people say they will be people wont end up using them and will join clans anyway.

Not getting a match making will make you and other players face raids the right way instead of just getting frustrated to no end for impossibility of beat it. You have no idea what are you asking for. You give a little kid a flamethrower just because he ask it and he think it's a water gun? Pretty much the same. MM would have a HUGE negative impact on community and raids itself It's just that you don't know the meaning of raid and how impossible MM is for that Asking flamethrower thinking it's a water gun I won't try convince you but I say you this. Go on try it and let's talk about it after you saw how a player can make you wipe in a place you know like your hand preventing you to train in the portion of fight you need to train. Come back and try to say that you want to play always with someone new that is preventing you to go past that point. It will be hard to say as you where asking to crush your genitals with a hammer. You could say it if you know it's not going to happen but you will never mean it ever again

I seriously doubt the raids will be that hard. I played wow for awhile and had no problem completing heroic dungeons with pugs. Occasionally there were people that didn't know the dungeon but a quick explanation would solve 99% of any problems. And there was a boot option for the other 1%.

I'm talking about the the wrath of the lich king and cata heroic dungeons. I never really got into raids on wow because my computer at the time couldn't handle them. I'd get like 5 fps lol.

The last expansion? I quit playing before mists of pandaria came out. All the dungeons were too easy after gearing up and I couldn't raid because of my computer so I lost interest.

I might play with 10 or more groups before I find a decent one, but that should be my choice to make. If it's terrible playing with MM people then people will stop using it and look at other options like clans if they really want to complete it. As long as the content isn't nerfed I don't see what there is to lose by allowing the option. If you don't like MM don't use it. I wouldn't use the whole giving a kid a flamethrower thinking it's a water gun argument again all it's doing is detracting from the points you're trying to get across.

you said yourself you can't see the bad effect of MM. you don''t have the slightest idea of what you are asking. come back after you try to raid ps: it's not "if". there is no 1 good group out of 10. not even 100000. it's not something in wich you can caswally succed. it's not about equip and skill. youhave noida of whatyou are talking. bungie will never give you that flamethrower. at least not until next raid is released, this one get watred down and many in the comunity know full well mechanics. first expansion i'd bet

You haven't given one valid reason why the choice should not be there. You also don't seem to understand if I choose to play with MM I accept the increased likelihood of failure, that's my issue to live with, if I don't like it I'll stop using it. You're saying that 1 in 100000 match made groups could not complete a raid? The chances of meeting 5 others with headsets and the time to succeed are that low? You're talking out your ass based on your own assumptions. The mechanics of the raid will be known pretty quickly once it gets beaten and the more dedicated people post their videos / stream the gameplay. Before that happens you'll also see most non MM groups failing so what's the difference?

The point I was trying to make is that there is something for every type of player in this game. People want matchmaking and Bungie gave them strikes. Everything has been well thought of on Bungie's side of the spectrum. I for one came from Xbox 360 to PS4 and I've made plenty of friends on psn. I also served in the military and I'm fine with meeting new people. The point I'm trying to make is that people are seriously blowing things out of proportion.

I'm sure Bungie has their reasons but if you're working with a group who has the same point of view it can be easy to be blind to other possibilities. Strikes are great no argument there. Both sides of the argument are blowing this out of proportion but I just don't see many legitimate points for not allowing the option of MM. You could meet some awesome people in a raid MM group as well and extend that friend list even more if the option was available.

Cashew, you seem to be a pretty level headed individual and you may very well be in the minority of people who would greatly benefit from MM raids. With that said please look at their choice from bungies perspective. if you make a section of your game easily available to 100% of your user base and you make said content extremely difficult perhaps 1 in 10 groups will succeed that will leave you with 9 groups, more specifically 54 people, who will end up frustrated and generally have a negative experience. If 90% of your user base gets to the perceived "end game" (hardest final thing) and walks away with a negative experience how likely do you think you will receive repeat customers or positive referrals. I would rather make this content difficult to even attempt thus limiting my user base down to maybe 20-40% of which it will be known to be made difficult to these more hardcore groups and as such will severely limit the negative experiences. Which will in turn help to ensure repeat customers since this much smaller user base will be "challenged" instead of frustrated and upset. Purely from a financial standpoint and a good business decision it makes tremendous sense to put some hurdles in front of lucrative and extremely difficult gameplay.
