Is the Hand cannon as bad as everyone says it is?
I didn't get a chance to use it during the beta because scout rifles were so awesome. But people who have used it online say it sucks, and coincidently some users on these forums are saying the same thing...
EDIT: I've read over most of the comments and the overall verdict seems to be that it's good in PvE if you got the skill, but it's utterly useless in PvP. I've watched videos of it and it seems like fun to mess around with in PvE but when it comes to the crucible, I'll just stick to my Auto Rifle.

I find it most useful when dealing with bosses. Two headshots normally do it. And from good range. Anyone who can't get good headshots from twenty yards away with the Golden gun should be a Warlock or Titan. This is a marksman weapon and if you can't handle it then don't use it. Simple. I like it, it works well for me.

There for they say it suck. I had some fun with a hand cannon a few times its a fun weapon If you want a challenge and want to force yourself to work on accuracy. Admittedly prefer scout rifles though.

The HC was just fine especially if u like the scout rifle, basicly they were the same just a smaller clip size. Scout rifles own all anyways

HC is basically a jack of all trades kind of weapon. It doesn't excel in range, or fire rate, or accuracy, but it equals out on just about everything to make it the "medium" weapon.

I can't wait to get another Exotic Hand Cannon and demolish groups in the Crucible. It'll be much more fun than using ARs/SRs, even if it is less effective.

It depends on the player. For me I don't like it. I'll keep the thorn if I find it but that's due to rareity. Won't use it much maybe later as a challenge kind of thing but the scout rifles were great after I found one I liked. Little lower damage with higher fire rate

I picked it up, killed a few dreggs, went into crucible and got a few kills with it but realised it's not for me as soon as I found a scout rifle (this was on alpha and I didn't give it a second chance on beta).

I used one when I played the warlock , worked well with gear that improved the reload speed and a cannon that improved reload speed with kill shots.

PVE they were very fun to use, your DPS suffered a little because of the fire rate and recoil as compared to a scout rifle or a auto rifle. But if you had good armor that gave you bonuses to using one they were a lot of fun. PvP don't even try, that realm is ruled by auto rifles and snipers.

They challenge you to pace you shots and aim for the head and I need that coming from an experienced PvE gmaer that's why I cant wait for the launch so I can get my rare hand cannon, Renegade Mk. 55

I didn't take one into the crucible, but I liked them well enough in PvE. One shot, one kill.

No people just weren't good with it. It needs a few tweaks, like reload speed and probably an 8 round cylinder. Other than that I didn't have any problems with it, I wouldn't PVP with it because I'm not that good with it, but I've seen people that are and they do pretty well.

2 RepliesThe searcher .20 could almost 2 hit people. 1 hit lvl 8 dregs and 2 hit vandals. With the hunters ability to reaload after precision kills it's not that bad.

2 RepliesIm sorry but anybody complaining about the hand cannon, didn't know how to use it. Yes the reload was bad, but it is a revolver. I used mine in pvp an wrecked, two to four shots per kill (mostly headshots), because surprise surprise, u have to be accurate . U also have to remember that the guns they gave us on beta were starter crap, the good ones will of course b much better, better sights, reload, dmg, and so on.

I used them a lot in PVE, loved it, but nothing beats the auto rifle in PVP
