I remember playing Runescape (sue me) back in the day, and they always had holiday events that would last for a certain amount of time. How would you feel about things such as santa hats, jack o lantern heads, scarves, even a decorated tower?
EDIT: thanks to Chocomcbo, he found source from a Q&A video where they talk about Holiday Events. skip to 1:34:00

It would be great to have it. They could have 1 special quest and some side quest that will give you a mark or equipment
-
I would be disappointed if there wasn't holiday events and exclusive titles or gear.
-
I would love these but then of course people would complain because one of their various holidays isn't included (ie. Ramadan for lack of a better example) Either way I'll be happy tho so it doesn't bother me personally
-
Where is the Q and A? I would love a decorated Tower for Halloween, Christmas, etc.
-
Whatever adds to the game makes me happy plus I love things like Christmas or other holiday events in games like rift or wow. Even though destiny is not exactly a mmo.
-
I think they should put a lot of special events in on holidays like at midnight on Christmas in a certain area on earth they should have a giant ogre fallen in a Santa costume come out of a sleigh pulled by captains and one would have a red helmet and everyone in the event has to team up and kill him and if they do they should all get a random weapon that's Christmas themed and Santa armor.
-
I'm expecting them.
-
yes it would be nice i dont see a problem, a lot of mmo games do it anyways, it would be pretty funny going around killing bosses with a santa hat or a set of easter bunny ears
-
Yeah! Easter Bunny!!!!!!!!
-
What, we get Fallen in red suits with a sleigh pulled by Thralls?
-
Yeah, I wanna get a Santa hat for my guardian, and instead of a spaceship you can unlock Santa's sled.
-
Holiday events would be the best. Sparrow snow sleighs Santa hat helmets Candy cane melees Snow ball launchers easter egg grenades Halloween masks/costumes Enemies in costumes The possibilities are endless!
-
A bunch of weapons and armour in that holidays theme like candy cane shotgun or a hand cannon coloured like mistletoe, a helmet with antlers on it, it easy to bring around because you can say that the last city is rediscovering old festivals where you gave gift to one another to show you care, played pranks on each other while giving sweets or setting of fireworks in celebration of another year together.
-
Such events are always fun, so why not? on another note, 9/9/14 shall be known as purple ball day. I declare a parade be marched through the Tower in honor of the holy purple one.

-
A holiday themed tower and/or pvp tournaments would be kind of fun.

Edited by flyingsnake3: 8/7/2014 12:49:21 AMYES!!!!!!!!!!! Totally yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who wouldn't like a Christmas Warlock Bond or New Year weapons, or even a pumkin pie(my favorite btw)that lets you have your super cooldown in 5 seconds three times in a row(I totally made that up, but it would be cool)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Yes, it has been fun in GTAVO
-
Holidays = money Activision likes your money. Therefore activision will milk any opportunity they can to take your money.
-
Like WoW? Sure, why not.
-
Keeps the game going. I like the idea.

Edited by Wallaby Vonwise: 8/6/2014 10:38:55 PMYes. Why? A sense of immersion. I know that sounds contrary, distracting you from the point of the game... but aside from the fact that it is still earth, a lack of holiday participation in a game this large would probably contribute to a big sense of stagnation. If you're feeling the holiday spirit and the game completely ignores it? Vs. Participating, holding events and so on and so forth; it promotes a sense of time spent in-game where you can measure the growth of the world and the players - exacerbated by the mania that holiday celebrations can bring on. It would look and feel like the development company isn't done with the game yet, it's still current and you're a part of it and that awareness for you is greater than ever.

It's an alright idea on Christmas maybe the city could be attacked not stupid Santa stuff though.
-
You mean Like "Infection" for Halloween ya that was always a blast and the Lobby was always packed
-
YES! Snowy tower during christmas. Santa hat helmet (I wish)
