I remember playing Runescape (sue me) back in the day, and they always had holiday events that would last for a certain amount of time. How would you feel about things such as santa hats, jack o lantern heads, scarves, even a decorated tower?
EDIT: thanks to Chocomcbo, he found source from a Q&A video where they talk about Holiday Events. skip to 1:34:00

The Cryptarch that stole Christmas

Free "holiday" loot

Always cool to have some sort of holiday event. adds a little bit of needed silly escapades in times of boredom and what-not. Cryptarch could dress up as "Scrooge" and offer special deals for an exorbitant amount of coins for Christmas. Also dress the robots in elves costumes around the tower complete with pointy hats. Why? for shits and giggles. And have the faction whom you have helped the most send you a Christmas package in the mail with a purple engram. Halloween? Maybe have a "trick or treat" trek through the hive on the moon where sealed off doors open when you interact with them: An Acoylite peeks out and drops a random engram on the ground or drops a grenade instead followed by evil laughter. that's all that comes to mind currently, but will update with more ideas

Too cliché
-
yeah it sounds good but i hope they make fake guardian holidays instead of just x mas n such. like traveler day
-
I don't like sao bc it's shit, but the aspect of a timed themed boss is really cool, an ogre that wears a ripped red suit tries to kill you, you get a blue and white shader, and a fusion rifle called roman candle, which shoots a random colored fusion bolt. (They're close clustured and still charge, not like vm)

Dress Xür up as Santa
-
I want a Helm with a Santa hat
-
runescape was life
-
Why the heck not? I find the tower a bit boring now, it might be fun to have a few decorations. Though it would probably be more likely to happen as special bounties and whatnot.
-
Yes cause at the very least it'd give us things to do.
-
i played gw2, i don't want dumbass festivals in Destiny as well

Edited by Tagonyst: 10/15/2014 9:11:03 PMI say no thx to any holiday that references that hoe from the Middle East who cheated on her husband, got knocked up and some how convinced the world the magic man from the sky did it. No bastards plz.
-
because its more interesting than nothing
-
I'd be glad to see this happen. Would be a nice change of scenery in the tower and you could purchase special character items themed around that holiday
-
Edited by KrotasDanKUSH: 10/15/2014 9:27:30 PMIt's a little gay. But that'd be neat, Halloween shaders and guns how cool.
-
I say no, but only because I find it gimmicky, and not serving any real purpose.
-
Edited by xX6kr4niph0nXx: 10/15/2014 9:22:50 PMNo, because all it would be is Santa Clause coming to the tower to give us rehashed bounties for red and green weapons and a reindeer emblem.
-
We'll probably just get holiday missions. No decorations of any sort.
-
It'll probably be a rep grind for Santas faction with more reskinned shit to buy.
-
I have been in games where this was done before and it is a change of scenery for a short time. Also, Runescape was no the first to do this. It was Ultima IV, better known as Ultima Online.
-
yes because it shows they actually like holidays and cause I think they can be pretty creative with how they do it.
-
RUNESCAPE 4 LYFE.
-
I too played runescape and loved holiday events actually did last christmas's event and it was okay but a destiny event would be amazing, I'm thinking they will do a Halloween on just bc of that howl at the moon comment DeeJ made
-
Yesss! Would make things a lot less borning

I love when devs do stuff like this. Christmas on Minecraft servers is a blast. WoW had amazing holiday events year round for just about anything. Time-consuming but just about anyone could do it.
