The vid says it all. This is bad news for people who wanted raid mm, as bungie is clearly defending their standpoint.

There is no reason for raid to have MM. For all of those people whining about it, if you are thrown in with 5 others that you don't know their skills or play style or maturity you and your team are going to die. A lot. And each time you entire team dies you have to start over. Raids are multiple hours long to go through compared to strikes which could take a max of 30 min to an hour depending on the area (like devils lair for instance). Also the game instills you to meet people in-game, friend them, and play with them. You will meet a lot of people who you can invite to the raid to try it. No reason for matchmaking. Also everyone who enters would be level 20 or higher so their skills are refined and they probably have top-notch equipment. It is better and much more fun to go in with a group of your friends rather than a group of strangers you don't know. Destiny focuses on being social and having no MM for Raids will do just that. Have people meet people. Social Integration! Bungie do not back down. Stand your ground and fight back the darkness that seeks to change how a raid works. Fight back.... and become LEGEND!

Mkay, so I wont be buying the 2 DLCs. This Raid shit is a backstep to 2003 MMO machnics. What is the purpose of content when 90% of the playerbase wont see it anyway?
-
I hope that they aren't heavily underestimating the community and/or overestimating the difficulty of their raids to the point where we don't need to go through the trouble of getting teams together to do raids after just a short while but we're forced because we can't just find decent randoms in MM. It's just about convenience for me.
-
Good shit. Good to know Bungie isn't caving.
-
Yay they aren't giving in to casuals :D
-
They were never going to do matchmaking for raids. They're standing they're ground because they know what they're doing and it makes perfect sense.
-
This info was released a while back. It's nothing new.
-
It's all mind over matter! I don't mind cuz it doesn't matter.....
-
Funny. The IGN video said the exact same thing. And you got to hear it from a Bungie developers mouth, not quoted. So anyone got Moreconsole saying the same thing or any other youtube game news source regurgitating the same info? Post them here.
-
There are plenty of clans openly recruiting, find one you like and join it. Quick way to get more friends. A lot of people interested in this game aren't too familiar with mmo's and traditional raiding. They don't understand that you don't want to roll into a raid with random people.

Way to stick to your guns Bungie and to all the people who wanted Raid MM: Nanana boo boo, stick your head in doo doo.
-
thank god there not adding MM it would ruin raids
-
I approve. The Vault of Glass is like the Holy Grail. Only the best deserve it's divine bounty

i have to say,,,,,,,,,, bungie can do what every they like,,,,, they are producing the best game in console history just now. FFS they could shit on OBAMAS chest if they wanted. i respect them for that. go bungie.

Again, people think they are mad now, just wait until you join a raid with 5 other Blueberries, that you have never seen or even farted in the direction of......then get 2 or 3 hours in and have half of them quit because mommy was screaming "BED TIME". You will wish you would have done it this way in the first place. This isn't a decision they made lightly, I promise you that. I'd be willing to be they went back and forth multiple times, listened to all kinds of feedback from Raid clans and others with experience in this stuff.
-
Even if mm was included it would still be pointless if you queued for 20 mins, only to find a group and the conversation goes like; Group leader (GL) :hi, do you have epic/legendary 'x' weapons/armour/ ? You: erm, no. GL : Do you have experience with this raid? You: erm, no, my 1st time here. GL: Get some epic/legendary weapons/armour and some more experience then come back. You: How am I suppose to get experience if am New? And nobody will take me? GL: join a clan. You: I am in one! They said what you said! GL: Sorry, *kicks you out of group* Oh yes, this does happen in some games. I know, because this happened to me.
The vid says it all. This is bad news for people who wanted raid mm, as bungie is clearly defending their standpoint.
Seriously bungie wtf. U say you don't want people to have to play with randomers to preserve the rewards and because they will fail but then you have made it so most people's only way of playing the raids is to go online, meet some randomers, and then play with them. This means that even once you have spent hours finding people (instead of just matchmaking taking a few seconds) you could still end up with people trying to lone wolf it and also your chances yet again will be drematically reduced because you are playing with people you don't know so your communication with these people isnt going to be great. Why not throw in the matchmaking and let people have a go if they fancy there chances. If it's as hard as you have said it is to complete these raids then the rewards are still going to be preserved. Also why not make it like 3-6 players that way you can still try and have a go with your mates (and more than likely fail) but at least you could have and go at it instead of getting to end game and being like woo raids, and then the big middle finger from bungie that says haha u can't do this unless you've got 6 friends that are all gonna be online for several hours at the same time. Basically you were so close to the perfect game and then it turns out the big secret about raids that you didn't want people to know is that only 10% of people playing destiny will be able to access them. Signed seriously upset fanboy

Edited by SIump: 8/7/2014 7:37:15 AMAll of the sources she listed is old news. I don't care if raids have no mm. People just don't want to put in the effort. They're lazy and don't deserve to raid in my opinion. They complain and moan and don't understand the thought process of Bungie's decision. The people that seek out other people and aren't afraid to talk to strangers in the case that they don't have a full group already are the people that deserve to go on raids. People who genuinely want to raid will not let something like no matchmaking stop them. They will get off there ass and talk to random strangers to form a group. People who have friends to play with have already done it. Those people were all once random -blam!-ing strangers to one another. Everybody is clenching their ass cheeks over problem that is so easy to overcome. Just -blam!-ing squat down on the toilet relax your anus and let the shit flow. You'll be doing yourself a favor.

*good news

Woo hoo,stand strong Bungie!
-
I suppose it isn't the end of the world. The only people I have on my friends list are my 'real world' friends. I honestly don't even know if I will be playing the game long enough to warrant stressing over the raids, come October I'll be playing Dragon Age anyway. If however I do want to try them I can't see it being too difficult to find like-minded people on here. Don't really see the issue with the whole thing.
-
I basically won't be able to do raids then!
-
Damn straight.
