Hello.
I propose a simple solution to the conflict that is happening.
Most likely you've already heard the news that Raids will not support matchmaking. So you will have to find partners to complete Raids with on your own. All by yourself. Scary, I know lol.
But my proposition is that whenever your in the Tower you can go up to something known as the "Raid Wall." Or something like that, doesn't really sound cool I know. Anyways, you can go up to it and put up a notice, letting people know you need team members to complete a raid with. By putting up this notice, people will have the ability to inspect you and decide whether or not they want to do a raid with you. If they do, it will send you a notification letting you know. Whenever you put up a notice everyone in the tower at that time will be able to see it. Doesn't matter which instance there in, however once they leave and come back your notice for them will have expired.
For people who are serious about raiding, being able to inspect their gear will ensure you that they fit the requirements your looking for and aren't just paired with a noob.
Just an idea, constructive criticism is expected. Also people who completely hate my idea is also expected. Just an idea, let me know what you think. Please be positive when stating your opinion. This is a little idea, I could care less if it was added. Just an easier way to find raid mates without having to log onto the forums.

Also, if you have any ideas or things you think I should add let me know.
Update: I was thinking, why can't the Raid Wall be connected to the forums? And whenever you access the Raid Wall in game you actually access the forums. Maybe? I don't know. What do you think?
Anyways, let me know what you think! :)
(Also here's a little game, if a raid wall was put in the game what would you want it to be called.)

Raid wall sounds kind of like this forum. Where the wall is the thread and you post your desire to raid. I use my app to inspect your gear and ultimately decide to accept or decline your offer.
-
Bumping this thread because this is a much greater idea than raid matchmaking.
-
This should be on #feedback
-
I like this idea, it sounds similar to LFG that WoW has.

Edited by Griz: 8/2/2014 4:00:35 AMI think it would be easier to just get a smart phone or hop on the net really quick.
-
I like the way you think :) great idea !
-
I support any in-game way to find some good raiding homies, as matchmaking does sound like a bitch
-
This is a brilliant idea. Great thinking! :]

I have been struggling with the decision to not have matchmaking for Raids, but I think I have just discovered some of Bungie's logic. Strikes are like a warm up for Raids. The matchmaking process used for strikes will pair you up with potentially hundreds of people before you reach the level cap. Meaning that everyone will have come into contact with a lot of decent and multiple great players. Add those few select people that you enjoyed playing with and by the time you are ready to raid you could easily have met 5 people to raid with. Problem solved (for me at least).

I like the idea. Other games have this in place and it does well. A LFG flag with a description would also work. Unfortunately, Destiny would have to rely on an outside app because the infrastructure just isn't in game.

Edited by splattherpunk: 8/2/2014 3:38:11 AMThe Berlin Wall fell. All walls fall eventually, hah. Walls are never good unless it's a house or building. Human walls fall... The question should be... Who and what(why?) erected those walls and will they still be around? Most likely, not.

Great Idea. I was thinking the same sorta thing. Just didnt know how to impalement it in the game.
-
I came up with an idea, inspired by ATouchyPriest, please check it out and give some feedback.

-
I like the idea, but I'm pretty sure that Bungie is trying to convince players to be more social this way, making us sooner or later have to either join a clan, or friends that are good at playing the game. Still, good idea.
-
Yes. Please.

I put something like this up in the feedback section, but it got pushed aside by all the "nerf everything!" Posts. It's a great idea, but I don't see why it needs to be limited to raids. It should just be a group forming mechanism that people can use to form groups for anything and everything.
-
Great idea - would need to indicate a mic or not as well. Perhaps you could leave a customised message with it...
-
Bump This is a great idea
-
Just a bit of info for you couldn't caee less means you do care
-
Sounds like matchmaking but like everything in Destiny just another excuse to go back to the Tower to do anything. Aside from that a physical board you can interact with and post open positions for does sound interesting. It could draw you more into the game in its own little way. Like those flier boards you see around colleges and such.
-
Just cause you have good gear doesnt exactly say anything about how good you are. The raid will take a team of highly skilled players who can communicate effectively and efficiently.
-
This ain't a bad idea to be honest. I always say if you're going to do something, do it in game. Add to the experience.
-
Sounds like a good idea. Only problem is how many people want to scroll through notices.
-
Good idea, maybe they could integrate that into the app and maybe have some kind of chat system through the app..

You know what Just did, OP? I used the destiny app to look at your gear, coincidentally I can also use it to talk to you, and make plans to play online together. I could even make a post, letting anyone who might be interested that I was looking to do something, and they'd be able to see my gear.
