Having a MM option would only get more people in the game. Some of those gaurdians might suck. Is this a surprise to you? I'm glad you have the foresight to see the obvious. I think MM is a great idea. If you had a bad experience in the raid, you knew what you where getting into before you started. I don't need my hand held.

With the rumor of them being over 10 hours or more to complete. No matchmaking is a great idea, I completely understand it. But we will have to see for ourselves if they really do take that long. Then we can say its a good idea or a bad one. If it holds to be true, an they are 10+hours, matchmaking is a horrible idea. We still have no idea if anybody drops out or quits if the Raid ends. How many casual players do you think you would run into in matchmaking that have 10 hours to dedicate to a Raid? An how many people quit games you play? Has nothing to do with somebody needing to hold your hand. It's a game mode they have created strictly for the Hardcore fan base. Bungie even said those exact words" This is for the Hardcore fan base that wants a challenge this isn't for your casual players". So yes if everything holds true an they are hours, an hours long, like traditional MMO style raids. You should come back an thank Bungie when it comes out Sept.

Personally, I don't think they will take that long, but I'm definitely hoping for a few hour grind, masochist trial that requires teamwork and dedication.

  • 2 hours is what I'm hoping for at the least, but even if it's 2 hours an not 10+. Still don't find matchmaking a good idea, there is way to many casual console gamers out there that play maybe 30 minutes a day. Seem to run to a lot of them on 360 that play video games but find anybody that plays 2+ hours a day a " no lifer, fag***, nerd, try hard, etc etc" Guess others just have better luck with matchmaking in games or just don't plug there mics in to realize what's going on. I would say I get a good team on any given game on 360 maybe 5% of the time give or take a little. Rest of the time just full of idiots shooting walls, looking at the sky, AFK, or they can't even work both analogs simultaneously.

  • Yeah, I'm one of the ones that don't plug in the mic... If people want the really good gear, the game should challenge them, definitely not for casual gamers.

  • Kinda... come off as insulting... but if you want MM, there is a choice for it. Alot of people are for things without understanding why, I was hoping to grant insight, you clearly looked into and if you're for it then great.
