Hopefully Bungie will watch this and please, think carefully before choosing. Sorry about a "Whatever Bungie Chooses" answer being absent. Just a simple poll for a hot subject right now.

This is my post from another Raid MM topic. Please visit the topic above see the responses. Bungie did a great thing NOT allowing MM in raids these are setup for experienced highly team focused individuals the way it should be.It takes planning, high amounts of team work and hours of grinding.I put 4-7 hours a day into gaming and easily put 500+ hours into most games i play would be as sad thing to see everyone after 3 months wearing the same exotic and legendary gear as everyone else. These raids need to be EPICLY difficult and the same with exotic and legendary gear it should require 100's+ hours of grinding or you loss your HARDCORE group fast. The same group that will if Bungie allows put 500+ hours into there game coming back. **Edit Rant Alert**See you are a casual gamer im the opposite my friend you may put 50 hours into Destiny and call it quits my people dont mess around we game my friend oh and when we game we game hard.20+ years everyday die-hard.When your done with Destiny at 50 hours im just getting warmed up at 500 hours im ready for another 500.Me and the LARGE HARDCORE community keep coming back if theres a reason to you and the casuals want everything given to them and wont put 10% of the time me and the HARDCORE group will.*** You want everything easy it sounds like. You should have to put 100's+ hours into the game before you even start seeing anything exotic or legendary the feelings different when you really earn it.Im telling you if this game can be conquerd and i can gather every exotic or legendary gear i want within 250 hours ill be done within 3 months and im far from alone on that.*** BOTTOM LINE RAIDS ARE FOR ELITE VETERAN TEAMS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM FOR RANDOM GUYS.THE DIFFICULTY SHOULD BE OUTTA THIS WORLD TO EVEN GET A CHANCE TO RAID IM TALKING 250+ HOURS BEFORE YOU EVEN SEE A RAID AND ONCE IN A RAID IT SHOULD BE JUST AS DIFFICULT TO PASS.*** When games gave less of a option of failure and more frustration in the end should leave the gamer feeling more accomplished when he/she finally accomplishes what that goal . " It takes gears to grind and anything worth having takes hardwork and dedication " These are life bearing lessons that believe it or not are taught in games to many times i've seen gamers want everthing given to them is this a reflection of self if so we are in trouble as a society. Edit:I apologize in advanced if i seem brash or rude in my delivery it is for the sake of debate and that alone.

      • Raids are to be completed from start to finish. Not being started at a half way point...not even at a quarter point... That being said. I'm for it if MM has disabled drop ins. Enter at your own risk. Drop outs can ruin the game, and lone wolfs aren't intentionally seeking to join already started games either. I'm against it if drop ins are allowed. It breaks what a raid should be. I'm a lone wolf. Though, this games way more fun with people. I'll scout for people to team up with if I need to. Hopefully after, we'll all be friends and game now and then after. So I'm not stressed over it being in the gme or not, but understand if it's done right, no compromised anything. So it's all good.

      • As a veteran of MMORPGs and their raids, I absolutely would prefer a better challenge for organized groups. It sounds as though they've designed the raids to require high levels of communication and multiple attempts - like raids in MMORPGs. How long do match made groups stay together after a single wipe on not "brand new" content? Not long at all. This becomes frustrating on its own right and, if you're a boss or two in, your "pullable" group of individuals that are also locked at that boss grows smaller and smaller, causing longer waits and greater frustration and more people leaving. All of this results in constant complaints in the forums, twitter, and every other social media medium which can result in less sales due to a perception of the game not being fun. If the encounters are made easier to appease the MM crowd, it frustrates the high-level players that enjoyed the challenge which leads to the conversation piece that the game "was made too easy" or "made for casuals" and the "extreme" players leave. This is a spiral that WoW has been front and center of for years, now. Is it still the most dominant force in MMORPGs? Absolutely. Does it have the same subscriber base as it did in BC and WotLK (the first and second expansions)? No, it does not. There are many variables involved with that, including the sheer age of the game, but most of the community that had played since Vanilla or BC will say the same thing - the game got boring because it was made too easy. So you're looking at a classic game of "who do you want to piss off"? You're also looking at a marketing plan where you have a game mode that is, honestly, nonexistent in the current FPS market. So you're gambling complainers now - before the release - against complainers later - after the release. Bungie also possesses the "excuse" that they have put together a community hub (these forums) where individuals can find others with the same time schedules as themselves to try and tackle these raids with and make regular runs. This also, arguably, helps create a sense of community more than clicking on the raid, waiting for a random group, and - more often than not - wiping a couple of times and the group disbanding. Rinse and repeat. Finally, there's also the concern of the "gear market" getting too dry too quickly with automatic match making. By this I mean the ever-present YouTube giving the vast majority of the playerbase access to strategies that win. If you are not restricted to organized times, you may find yourself "raid geared" very quickly as you can run and complete the Vault of Glass at your leisure. This, on its own, creates a possibility of rapid boredom and people dropping the game. By removing automatic match making, they are putting a "soft cap" on the time it will take the average player to be "fully geared" - the same reason there's a weekly lockout on the raids, themselves (one of the reasons, at least).

Do not compare raids in Destiny to raids in other mmorpgs simply because they are called "raids". Run a few strikes, send out some invites to people you thought were good and run a raid. There's a MM playlist for strikes, you can use that to scout players. Has anyone even tried doing any of the Vidmasters or trying to see how far you can get in LASO in Halo with randoms? Never goes well.

        • I'm not in love with the idea of match making, but as of now we don't have any in game methods of recruitment. I think some kind of chat feature or recruitment board in the tower is needed if there is not going to be matchmaking. Honestly I wouldn't mind it being in the game as long as they didn't compromise the difficulty. It would be a great way to fill a hole if your group is missing someone, or if you wanted to jump into a random group to get acquainted with a place.

        • This brings back memories having 40 man raids with only 35 people :s or sitting waiting a the gate of the dungeon with 22 for a 25m raid.. 6 man is nothing, let's say u are with 4 friends u can pick up some1 at the tower inspect them what gear they got etc. Plus im sure there will be websites for this. But ye 6 man how hard can it be to fill those places, by the time u are ready for raid u should have a couple of good people in your friendslist if u havnt allready.

        • As someone who only wants to play the game and not worry about anyone complaining, I am against MM, although if they decide to approve it, I am fine with that. I just want to be with 5 friends in the Vault of Glass, destroying high-level enemies that are trying to flank us, me using my Arc Blade to kill everything, my Warlock friends throwing Nova Bombs at the enemy, the Titan friends who use their Shoulder Smash to eliminate the enemy, and eventually, reach the Bottom Floor.

        • Raids are not something I generally don't enjoy match making. Reason being is because. It ends up going south real quick or people leave and give up too easily. And it is a 6 man raid not a 40+ man raid so it's not an issue.

Me: Hey, I'm looking for a raiding group. You: Wrong Class, Not enough Rank, wrong Equipment, Team is already Full, You suck, I don't know you, Not in the mood, etc. That is what raids will turn into. 90% of your players Bungie. Will not be participating in Raids. Congrats on treating a portion of your customers as 2nd class citizens. NOW GO -blam!- YOURSELVES! And for what? Why are you so hell bent on being stupid? No really, this is the same exact Bullshit you pulled when you limited custom Games to a friends only list on Halo... And I ask, what was the -blam!-ing point of that? So that a couple of dumb-blam!-s could feel safe in the knowledge that only they get to play Custom gametypes without the interference of someone they don't know? Even though if you were a developer worth your weight, you'd realize that it's possible to program such a thing that caters to both sides. What is with this BS path you keep taking where you treat Lone Wolves like shit? WHAT THE -blam!- DID WE EVER DO TO YOU!?!? Besides play the game without a mic plugged in. And with the way I am, I don't need a mic plugged in to outclass any of you in a FPS, even when its a team oriented FPS. But apparently, because I don't communicate that I'm shooting at someone or dying... I'm not special enough to partake in that content. -blam!- OFF!

            • people who say raids should be matchmaking only are very selfish with their candy . its no harm at all in letting randoms team up because you candy lickers are not effected at . you can enjoy them in the way that you want and so can we . you just want to feel special and rob others of the chance to enjoy raids . i really hope the DLC dosnt includes raids as that would be disgraceful

            • I think that there should be a small portion of the game exclusively for hardcore gamers willing to put in a ton of work and coordination to accomplish a goal. I'm not that type of gamer (like, at all) but I'm willing to change that if it means I get to accomplish something more meaningful than what the rest of the game has to offer. There will be nothing special about it if it's made super accessible.

            • Wait, so let me get this straight. Either you can only play with friends, you need 6 people that you actually KNOW in order to do a raid OR you have the option of playing with randoms as well as with 1-5 other people you know? If I'm looking at this correctly, why is the first even an option? Otherwise, could someone explain this for me?
