For Raid MM

1397

Against Raid MM

Hopefully Bungie will watch this and please, think carefully before choosing. Sorry about a "Whatever Bungie Chooses" answer being absent. Just a simple poll for a hot subject right now.

  • Against. Stop being afraid of talking to other people and form your own groups for Raids.

  • It honestly doesn't matter if they have mm or not. First of all the people who want it are just the assholes who either suck at making friends or think they're gods gift to gaming so the have a elitist ego when in reality they suck and nobody enjoys playing with them. And then the people who are against, including myself, are just assholes who simply can't comprehend being so antisocial that you can't make friends. I know I made a couple friends during random events in the beta

    • Matchmaking and raids don't mix. Look what it did to WoW. Made it an unfun pile of shlop to raid. You will never beat the raid if you team up with random strangers. What point of matchmaking with raids, will hinder you unable to BEAT a raid, does not make sense? Raids require planning. You can't plan very well with 5 random strangers you meet and have no choice over. Rather! Why don't you form a fire team, either in the tower, on b.net, reddit, etc. So you can CHOOSE who you play with. Plan it out. Be ensured to have comma. And so you can actually beat the damn raid. Don't spew without looking at the history. Matchmaking for raids RUINED WoW. Bungie knows what they are doing.

      • No matchmaking, PuGs ruined WoWs raiding system and I don't want to see destiny get dumbed down cuz people are randoming a group and saying it's too hard.

      • Well they claim that Strikes are basically Raids for MM, but I don't see that as the case. Strikes do have bosses, but are shorter than Raids and you're likely to get more loot on an actual Raid than a Strike. Personally I think they should add some sorta playlist for it.

      • Against it. If you need a reason just look at how the entitled are already demanding MM get added for Raids. After they get their way they will be back 2 days later demanding the difficulty gets lowered. And so the circle of retard will continue.

This comes down to having full access to all game content that you purchased regardless of who you know. Unless there is a technical reason presented by Bungie, as to why both random MM and party specific raids are not possible...then give players who want to try it randomly...the opportunity. For all of you that are against it and intend to play with a party of friends...then go ahead. The implementation of random MM, has no bearing on your gaming experience.

        • Even the guys that are against and think are really hardcore and whatnot so its not a problem to them, should really, really, think it over. Bungie mentioned some raids can last three hours. How many of your friends do you think will want to keep repeating that just because you didn't do the raid yet ? Will you be available to do a raid you already did again and again just so some other guy hasn't but he needs players ? maybe you prefer to spend your time in the crucible doing clan matches ? fk him right ? same will happen to you and it will only get worse for the guys the buy the game latter. "Hey who wants to team up with me ?".... sorry brah, we all did that already, cya. Seriously, think this one over.

        • Give serious penalties for quitting. Or make it impossible to jump to orbit, so the only way someone can quit is to disconnect from the internet or turn off their console. That would discourage quitting a bit at least, and would be necessary for such a game type. Also, allow people to join the match partway through by invite only, if quitting happens. When joining the matchmaking, give a message stating that quitting is punished, and that the mission should take multiple hours to complete, and that team play is necessary "attach your mic" kind of thing. Maybe make mics mandatory. So the matchmaking wouldn't be a typical type, but it would allow people to play who don't have many friends playing, and don't want to waste time manually matchmaking. As for the punishment for quitting... maybe confiscate the entire inventory, and only get it back by joining another raid, and playing it until success or failure. So basically, you would get your items back as soob as you joined the raid, but would only keep them if you completed the raid - successfully, or not - Just some ideas. I really want a matchmaking feature, because I only have two friends who will have destiny on xbox one. At least, for the foreseeable future. :(

Against. I've seen where it leads. Step 1: MM is implemented. Everyone is happy. Right? Step 2: Random groups can't complete the content because of people quitting from 1 wipe or people getting in that have no business being there. Step 3: MM fans whine to the dev that the raid content (the content that is supposed to be the hardest stuff in the game) is too hard. Step 4: Game dev nerfs raid to shut the whiners up. Step 5: Raiders who previously had no problem with the difficulty can't bring themselves to do it anymore because the raid has already taken enough abuse from the nerf bat and they don't think its fair to pile on like that. Especially when the only death happening on their end is dying from boredom.

Too few options - random MM = bad, better in-game communications tools to facilitate PUG = good. And yes, I don't buy the argument that a raid team has to have SpecFor level coordination to beat a raid. As most people are so gleefully noting, Destiny is a FPS, 99.99% of FPS challenges can be solved by patience and lots of ammo.

          • It looks like removing match making removes the desire of about half of the population. Bungie must decide wisely. My own opinion? Use match making with the option to form parties.

I'm against mm for raids, but it seems like a lot of people are FREAKING out over a game mode they had no idea existed until 2 weeks ago. And it seems everyone who is for mm in raids can't seem to grasp the concept of what a 'raid' in an mmo is. But in the hopes that Bungie doesn't totally cave for those who players who can't see the benefits of not having mm for raid. This has already been suggested, but I'll add my twist to it: 2 modes - MM Raids & No MM Raids MM Raids Nerfed version of no mm mode. Upon completion rewards will be significantly less rare/hard to attain than rewards for playing no mm mode. Players will also be able to unlock the same rewards in different game modes. No MM Raids Played as originally intended by Bungie. Upon completion of raids, rewards will be exclusive to the no mm mode (only attainable by completing raids without mm). You can't hand out the same rewards to the players that put the time in, communicate, game plan, and spend 10's of hours with friends to complete a single raid as you do the players who team up with randoms and finish a raid on easy mode.

          • Its so disappointing to me when I see a close vote like this or people that think MM will benefit raiding. But then I realize that they don't know what they're talking about because they probably have no idea what raiding is and how difficult it is.

          • Looking at how difficult bungie claimed raids would be, it would be smarter to have an organized attack with your friends rather than having to make everything up as you go with a random group of people. It's not about how strong the individual players are but about how well they work as a team and I think a team of friends or members of the same group would be able to complete a raid better than a match-made team. So I'm against raid match-making

            • Ummm why not have BOTH. If you want to enter with friends/clanmates then you do so. I work strange hours (medical field) so my friends are not usually on when I play (they are sleeping) so for me no MM would be tough. So having both seems the optimal solution.
