Heavy Weapons

Machine Guns

Rocket Launchers

Anyone have any thoughts on the heavy weapons? Like which is better and why? I only used the rocket launcher in the beta cause I was thinking shoot once out of cover quickly as opposed to a sustained fire scenario, but I noticed the rockets don't do crit damage and take a while to reach their target so you have to lead your target a bit. Just curious what the consensus is.

  • Rocket launchers are probably 2-3 kill max. If you can get a good machine gun you can easily get 5+ kills.

    • For the beta i feel that the machine guns were much better than rocket launchers in almost every situation. I even had a rocket launcher that would split into many smaller explosions after impact (which was f**king awesome btw), but I still used my boring slow firing machine gun because of the more consistent kills. This could completely change when the full game releases though.

I'll always go with machine guns because I've had a propensity to kill myself with rocket launchers. The uncommon one was a beast in pvp, especially with the added damage(slower rate of fire)when zoomed bonus. Thunderlord(exotic machine gun) will be absolutely positively abominably destructive with its lightning rounds bonus (fires faster and more accurately the longer the trigger is held). Gjallarhorn and Truth will be awesome rocket launchers but I'd probably have to pick Gjallarhorn because even if I do something stupid like blow myself up. The rocket will split into tracking cluster missles still going after the guy I was suppose to hit.

      • Machine guns get a bunch of ammo with miniscule time to kill it's like a full auto scout riffle with 90 rounds at 600 to 1000 rpm. OP definitely comes to mind.

        • Depends on my other gear. I had a Shingen-C that had higher DPS than any Heavy Machine Gun I ever ran into. I felt as though the only way I would ever use my heavy ammo is if I were using a Rocket. Hope it changes in the final build.

        • I used a Rocket Launcher with Mini Mirv myself. I think that Machine Guns are more versatile, and last longer, but at the same time if you die at any point while using it you lose all that ammo and potential kills. Using a Rocket Launcher to easily contest mobbed control points or even to get the odd kill or two seemed like the better tradeoff for my money's worth.

          • I prefer the MG because they do more damage and you can change targets fairly quickly.
