I think anyone here that has played a lot of Destiny Competitive Multiplayer and started to get a hang of the basics of it, agrees that even with these first focuses with each class, it takes quite a few games before you've learned most of their uses and what you should watch out for.
In the beta this was fine because we knew that every guardian of a specific class had a specific set of abilities, but in the final game, where every player will have a few more focuses available to them with different skillsets, this will be so much harder to prepare for and/or play against. In a way, playing competitive multiplayer in Destiny at max level would be totally unpredictable and impossible to measure skill in since the first couple of deaths you'd be like "oh, he has that skillset, okay" and then the real match starts.
In all games with magic/powerful abilities overall, where there is PvP, you have a way of telling what's coming at you before it's in your face, that's HOW you counter it afterall, and how you can feel like knowledge and skill plays a role.
Therefore I am suggesting that you add some sort of interface(or solve it in any other way you find suitable) that makes it clear what you're up against at the start of every match. A good way might be to somehow alter the appearence of a character based on the focus he/she has equipped(for example a special kind of colored glow or something) in a way that directly tells you what you need to know.
Cheers,
Thanks for this awesome game Bungie!

6 RepliesI disagree. Just like when you first stared playing the beta a took a little but to adjust. It will be the same at full lvl. You will eventually figure out, it's a titan a titan can do such and such abilities I need to range him. That is part of the "skill" as you put it in competitive multiplayer. You are asking for a crutch to be able to be a skilled player. Tactics come into play when you have to take into account different builds and that is what makes the game fun instead of repetitive and boring.

2 RepliesWell that's really the beauty of it. You don't know who is running what so be CAUTIOUS. Don't run out there like a noob and get (ability here)... RADAR... What beautiful thing right? Though people may be invisible/have lunge melee/ crazy grenade types. They ALWAYS appear on Radar first... At the end of the day this is a FPS. So the majority of kills each person has will come from those and we all know everything out there though some may have some interesting "effects". What you want is a crutch like the other guy said. Do you need to know I'm carrying a sniper before the game or will the headshot I hit you with inform you that you should probably watch out for glint from now on LASTY, in case you were going to bring up "you don't know what super they're running" argument. My answer is is absolutely do sent? You haver over a guy and see his name embroidered in gold then it's time to run or kill him ASAP because death is inbound ( or in some cases and invincible shield that can buff teammates into super shielded beasts.... In that case just run ) What you want is not good and I could say on a 99.9999% bet there is no chance anything like this is happening. No offense to you whatsoever, just not a good idea man.

23 RepliesEdited by iMoonchildi: 7/30/2014 7:23:41 PM-.- just like in the beta or any other game with multiplayer you're either good or bad I don't understand what you're getting at with this exactly but it sounds like your one of the ones who struggles in PvP. it's simple dark for gear unlock power abilities learn how to shoot strafe ect. it's not hard and I disagree with it not being fair if you suck you suck you can either get better or stick to PvE and there is a radar that tells you where people are coming from -.-

2 Repliesbump.. Wow, I've never been in a beta forum for a CLOSED BETA, where I have to bump my own post after 8 mins because the forums is so active that I'm afraid my post won't be seen.
