I love playing crucible. Sure some games I get my ass handed to me, but a fair amount of the time I find myself in the top 3 of the match. My kd ranges between 2.15-2.30 and I'm trying to push it higher as I like to look good in the crucible. Does this make me a bad person? I love PvP and PvE equally but to me I want my PvP stats to impress :)
It only makes you a bad person if your w/l ratio is sh*t the ability to farm kills by camping, baiting with other team members etc. just to improve your k/d is scrubish at best. People seem forget hitler had and insane K/D but still never got that elusive "W".

 •
yessss but I'm not Hitler. I do win games :-)
But I mean like the kids that have a 0.002 W/L ratio and a 9.0 K/D! Lie when recruits on truskill that weren't boosters talked about how high their K/D was (hate making that reference but that's when it all started back when tru(lybroken)skill was a thing). This is especially true if you have a clan tag/claim to be in a clan. On the other hand now that I've made the truskill reference that was a system where K/D trumped W/L in a situation where you never got a chance to play with friends. You could go what was a 4v4 score limit? Let's call it 75? 74/1 your teammate go a combined total of 0/75 but you lost over all skill because of a L! So people based players off of K/D now days that wins factor as much or more than K/D the ability to win means more to me than K/D. Of course I normally only play objective game types so that's also a factor. $0.02

 •
I have about a 95% win and a 4.61 k/d. Truskill?
Sure but no! truskill was the standard gears of war and halo used for match making and ranking, but it only tallied wins v losses, so even if like in my example you carried a team and beasted but lost you could go down in rank, but at the same time in gears (think it was 2) the only time I ever entered a multiplayer lobby I played on game in a hacked server got two kills before the match ended and boom! Rank 25! (Out of 50 possible rankings) never touched truskill again unless it was to goof around with some buddies on halo. But you having a high win ration places you as a better skilled team player in my opinion. It's entirely possibly to have extremely high K/D in game like battlefield with huge maps and a sniper rifle but that's also reflected in other stats, for example I can view your battle log and see you have 10 recon service stars, I can sadly assume you only run recon and this still aid the team unlike a guy with terrible W/L and a dozen support stars cause he camps a stairway the entire map with an LMG or even an assault rifle. Doesn't help the team much if your two blocks from a obj camping. It Also requires little skill to camp a "fish barrel" choke point with an LMG. I run support a lot in BF and I do mean RUN! My M249 has never even seen it's bipod but that's cause I like the challenge. The thing jumps around like a chicken with it's head cut off.i play for fun most of the time but I also like to break concepts. Had the most fun of my life in MW2 running around for two weeks straight disproving the "noob tube" theory by getting noting but direct impacts. No one ever called it a noob tube in my group of friends after that. Lol skill comes from practice, what techniques work what don't! I do have to say though as a "hardcore" only player I pray none of these kids that I see in these servers ever join the military if one more kid runs past me sees a stream of molten lead spewing from my barrel and strafes in front of it! Seriously people lol

 • I see where you are coming from but that is an incredibly rare circumstance where that would happen. What annoys me is people struggle to realise that you can be good at objective, and get lots of kills. A lot of people on here seem to think you can only have one of these skills...

It's a balancing act, it's inevitably going to happen that you die, some times are unavoidable, but avoiding a win just to pad your K/D is where I draw the line, I've seen plenty of people watch me die to a person they could have killed to avoid detection an shoot them in the back or huck a grenade over a wall. You'll find teams(actual teams of friends/clan mates )that win often have above average K/D because they operate as a unit. In some games like Battlefield yeah I've said screw the OBJ cause the team I'm on sucks and rather than quit out I'll just find a spot and lay down fire. But I've earned all my "L's" no need to quit out if I can still count something as a win

 • Yeah I was in a clan for the destiny beta and communication is key!! If I was in a losing gunfight i would call it out and immediately (even though I died some of the time) the team had it covered. If I knew where somebody was and was out of range for me I'd call it so nobody ends up walking into an inevitable death. In other words I try to help the team out as much as I can even though some people on here struggle to believe that as I "only care for my k/d"😂
