Xbox One Destiny Beta needs an update

Whenever I try to launch Destiny on my Xbox One it takes me to a update screen. I accept this and brings me to an error screen saying this. "Destiny Beta needs an update, but something went wrong." I can't uninstall and re-install as I only have 3 Gigabytes to download with now. Is there any ways around this or any fixes?

  • Yep the same the happened to me with the 1.03 update yesterday and can't get Destiny to work and I really don't want to uninstall and reinstall because it will take to long to 're-download the full game.

  • Just hard reset you system and it should be back up and running! hard reset(hold the power button 5 seconds)

  • Hi. I don't know if I did something differently but I had the same issue and all I did was cycled the power on and off 2 times and I got passed that. Then it has problems installing the update so I cycled the power again and since then it has worked without problems

    • Yep, was running fine last night, now no matter what I do, no Beta, just a problem with the update. Guess that's it over until the main release.

    • I had the same problem with a different game of mine, but for whatever reason became resolved once I started downloading the destiny beta. Before that, when I tried updating my other game, it refused dispute all efforts. Then it became queued once I stared downloading the beta for destiny. Not sure if it's really related but I'm just saying that it might not just be the beta having download issues for the Xbox One.

    • We are also having this issue and have reinstalled the beta. And power cycled the xbox one twice. It just keeps saying there was a problem with the update...

    • I'm also having this problem right now.... Does your game go the "There was a problem with the update" screen?
