My sincere impressions of the current state of Destiny and some suggestions

I've been playing the beta a lot (not surprisingly). This thread is intended to be a place to share my sincere impressions and offer constructive criticism and suggestions. (If you're looking for a thread full of whining this isn't it). I plan on updating this as I play more. General:
Ever since I found that first piece if leaked concept art in my junior US History class, I expected Destiny to be one of the greatest games ever made. I can whole heatedly say that the beta reaffirms my belief, and I don't doubt that this game will blow me away on launch day. I've been playing quite a lot with friends the past few days, and my experience has generally been nothing short of fantastic and exhilarating. Even just staring at the City while waiting for a friend to get back is just amazing. With the Traveler looming overhead its stunningly beautiful (especially at sunrise!) and you really get the sense that the City is fragile and precious and worthy of being protected. I can only hope that in the full game or sometime later that we will be able to actually go into the City. Destiny so far has turned out to be amazing, but I feel like there are a number of things that can be improved to make it even better. Most of them seem rather small in the grand scheme of things, however.
Proximity Chat:
I can totally see where you guys are coming from in regards to eliminating proximity chat to avoid ruining the game by exposing people to other gamers who are obnoxious and annoying. However, I feel like it is almost a necessity for the style of game that Destiny is choosing to be. I feel like proximity chat can be done in a way where players can be muted very easily to minimize the verbal assaults and maximize the social benefits of interacting with other guardians. You've told us a number of times that you want other guardians to look at our gear and say "Where did you get that?!" Well, they cant very easily do that without proximity chat, especially when joining a fire team is kind of hard, which brings me to...
Fireteams:
This is another thing I think Destiny really needs, and it shouldn't be hard to implement. Inviting players to a fireteam is easy, however joining them (on XB1) seems to be kind of a hassle. When your looking at the roster, you can easily click on one of your friends and invite them to a fireteam. I think a button to join a friend's fireteam would be very useful. That way we can join a fireteam without having to dig through the dashboard for the invite.
Maps:
This is something that I'm a bit surprised wasn't present in the beta, and I really hope its already implemented in the final build. When we pull up our Ghost, a button to pull a map of whatever area we are in would be insanely useful. This would be helpful for remembering the general location of places we want to return to and show areas that we haven't yet explored. Guardians could also be given a small amount of xp for "discovering" areas like in many MMOs, adding a further incentive to discovering the vast areas Destiny has to offer.
Interceptor:
Let it be known that I don't feel that the interceptor is over-powered. From playing both in and out of the interceptor, I feel like its actually not that hard to kill the interceptor. One Nova bomb usually does the trick, or one shot from a rocket launcher. Its easy to snipe the driver out of the pilot seat. Fusion rifle kills it in 3 shots. Its extremely easy to kill it with other vehicles. That may all be pointless though, since apparently its is being nerfed. I disagree with the nerf. Having only one interceptor on the map would make it even worse. At least now each team has an equal chance of having an "over powered" vehicle. I think having only one would give too much of an advantage to one team.
Humor:
Bungie games, in my mind have always been uniquely funny, whether its banter between AI soldiers or enemy dialogue and/or deaths. I'm a bit sad that there wasn't much humor in the beta. Some of the Ghost's lines in the E3 2013 demo were pretty funny, so I thought that this game might have a similar style of humor to Halo. I'd like to see some more humor in the final game. Maybe we just didn't get to see it in the beta?
Ghost aka Dinklebot 7000:
I don't see a problem with this, though I'm a bit sad that some of the lines aren't quite as humorous as the ones from the E3 2013 demo, as mentioned
Exploration Missions:
I'll be honest, this was probably the most disappointing part of the game for me. They're called exploration missions, but really we didn't explore anything that we hadn't already seen before, we were just killing this enemy, scanning that plane, etc. I would really like to see these missions upgraded. Some missions that involve finding certain landmarks (without explicitly being told where it is) or missions to discover cool hidden areas would be really cool. I also think there need to be race-like missions (like in Borderlands) where you have to hit X number of spots on the map in a certain amount of time on your Sparrow to deliver something or escape from incoming enemies.
That's all for now! I will update it if anything else arise!
