K/D matters. In dead sectors kills get you points, more points if you control zones. So if you keep going below 1 you are hurting your team and are not being a team player, which is unfair to the good players.

Actually, your point is true but it has a problem. If it really matters, then there would be a ranking system or some type of system in place to match people based on their skill. However, there isn't. So it's really no one's fault.

True Skill will be in the retail release... It IS just the Beta build.
-
I'm just saying, as of right now. And there hasn't been any mention of it post-beta has there? And a majority of players will play on PS4 for sure. I'm pretty sure Trueskill is copyrighted by Microsoft and PSN won't have it. So I have my doubts about anything like that being in the final release. I believe TrueSkill has also been dropped out in the Xbox One in favor of their new Smart Match or whatever it's called.
-
I can't seem to find it, but a system will be in place. I remember the article said TrueSkill, but if MS has rights to that, it may be a different algorithm that Bungie formulated.
-
It's there. I read an article about it, but I can't remember where it was. Lemme check Google real quick.
-
Yes but what if your the guy who keeps capturing the positions then getting -blam!- by the swarm of guys coming to take it back. Kd will suck but team needed the player just as much as the guy who killed the guys that weren't even a threat in the first place True or not?
-
I get swarmed all the time and take them out easily. If you suck you suck, stop making bullshit excuses.
-
I not making excuses I suk but I am of value to my team. Didn't play halo or bungie before now. Still learning. But my point still stands. Just cause my kd not 15 don't mean I not a good player

You seriously don't get it. The score is based off the amount of kills you get. If you die more than you kill, you aren't helping the team in any way. Rushing control points and dying over and over is why teams lose. If you aren't good, just watch over the control point you have. Learn to read the radar and time grenades perfectly. Shit happens, but rushing in on control points is something you should never do if you just keep dying. Play with a full team, helps you get a lot better.
-
So, someone with a K/D ratio of 1.5 who never captures anything and gets 2000 points in one match is more valuable for the team than the guy with K/D 0.8 who captures all the time and ends up with 2200 points? I don't think it works that way....
-
It does and you still don't get it. The kid with the .8 K/D died more times than he killed. That means the other team scored more points off him than he scored. The kid with the 1.5 scored more points than he lost.

Edited by Gaslight_13: 7/25/2014 6:56:36 AMI get it, but I don't think you get what I'm saying Not every kill is 100 point, there are also based on headshots/super/etc and bases hold. A team which fails to capture bases and solely pursuits kills will lose to a team which holds 2 or more bases the majority of the game, even it their K/D ratio is lower. Also K/D doesn't say anything about number of kills. If I don't die in my camping spot and shoot 3 players, my K/D is 3. Then there are players with a K/D of 1.5, but they killed more than 20 people in one match.
-
Well thank you for the tips and no I don't get it. As I said im new to this

Edited by Ewoktapus: 7/25/2014 12:44:29 AMOf course. You can be bad at a game and still help the team. Just like you can be bad at a game and get better. Just know rushing in on a control point when you are dying over and over never helps the team.
-
Ok, but how is that relevant to my opinion of the beta?
-
Bad players have bad opinions. JK I'm just trolling.

lol fair enough
