I love the day night cycle , but it think Bungee missed a trick with the night time.
Imagine the sense of foreboding as you see the sun setting, knowing that the higher level Hive masters are going to be out in numbers, and that the darkness will cover the land making visibility limited without your ghost light.
Will you survive the night or succumb to the darkness....

Where are the spooky night monsters?! I was promised night monsters!!
-
While I'm inclined to agree with darker scarier areas... I think it should exclusively be for caves ect Night time is not as dark as most people assume... Given the fact earth in destiny has literally zero surface light output The world at night wouldn't be very dark at all what with the moons reflection and the bright night sky ..auroras ect Now... If there happened to be inclement weather... And you where unfortunate enough to go explore at night in say a storm... Then yes it would be dark apart from the lighting revealing the horde of hive around you

Edited by qy: 8/7/2014 8:01:00 AMRight. With the lack of light pollution (considering there are no lights,) it should realistically be far darker at night, and the skies brighter. Keep in mind that bungie is based in the Seattle area. In a city. With lots of lights. They might not have even thought about it.
-
Yeah make it pitch black, so dark that we need Riddick's eyes to see in the dark. How about Superman's X-Rated Vision?
-
Almost reminds me of Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. That shit scarred the living CRAP out of me!! XD
-
I don't think the night should be so dark that you need the Ghost's light (unless you go into a cave). I do agree on more enemies and the hive coming out. The hive thrive in the dark, so it fit the lore.

What is this,Minecraft?

-
Bungie should change it to be like red dead redemption at night time, that would be a cool addition to the game
-
Only if you can have a light to turn on and off if you need it. I wish you could turn one on and of anyway.
-
I think it should be darker and scarier, because it seemed to be very light. I don't think it should be as dark as the darkness areas though. Just not so bright. Of course higher level enemies would be nice, just to spice it up.
-
From a gamers viewpoint, I totally agree. But from a developers point of view, this would cause alot of players to greatly dislike the game and play it less or even not buy it. I think night should be dark enough that it feels creepy, but light enough that you can still clearly see without any assistance. Like in ODST as the rookie, but sliiiiightly brighter as there are no lights on buildings and stuff.
-
It's not a survivor horror and it's not good to create a real gameplay difference between night and day
-
I think this would be great like make fallen eyes glow off in the distance, or have thunderstorms at night. Ambush attacks by hive or fallen! That would be awesome.
-
I could agree, but the ghost light is pretty bad. If they had an upgraded light then yea.

2spooky4me

No! Its not a survive Horror game. Some areals are very dark and this is horrible enough.
-
I agree
-
Eh. Sounds too much like you're trying to play a Zombie game like Left 4 Dead (Hive are kinda like zombies). The one part where its so dark that we rely on the Ghost's light was a bit annoying and you could see the Hive anyways so it didn't really seem that scary as it was.

-
I totally agree on this :) it would be really cool
-
But you need to have a flashlight you can turn on and off your self! No automatic flash light please!
-
We all have helmets on, presumably with some type of low light amplification.
