I love the day night cycle , but it think Bungee missed a trick with the night time.
Imagine the sense of foreboding as you see the sun setting, knowing that the higher level Hive masters are going to be out in numbers, and that the darkness will cover the land making visibility limited without your ghost light.
Will you survive the night or succumb to the darkness....
-
I agree to this because in the beginning you even hear your ghost proclaim the fallen thrive I. The dark we dont
-
Yeah, a patrol at night and encountering more high level hive would be awesome. They should add a system like this for sure.
-
Yes! That would be awesome maybe those ?? Hive can come out and you will either fight them or run like hell!
-
Yea something like dragons dogma but not that far
-
Yes omfg! it would be like Dying light with the zombies being extremely aggresive during night
-
Greatest idea ever. Also, enemies should be more aggressive and higher level at night
-
I agree a hole new environment system at night! But I dislike the TRANCE music in some mission. That just made me mute the game. All what u want bungie please no more trance music :D
-
Also I think the fallen should be a bit more stealth like in the dark. Your ghost mentions, that the fallen thrive in the dark so make them as if they appear out of no where, or make them a bit more... Smart so to speak. since in the dark they are more capable enemies, they should be more deadly as well.
-
True night times or dark areas are not scary enough
-
And also they should just make the sky look like reaches night sky where the stars aren't blurry.
-
Edited by CrescentMage: 7/27/2014 8:26:31 AMabandoned earth should be very dark, lack of street lights and no power in abandoned places. clearer night skies, small light sources like glowsticks, or the flashing job beacons which can be used to guide you from place to place in the pitch blackness, but since they flash, it makes spotting them a challenge, and possibly following them in the darkness even more challenging.
-
Sounds pretty good. There should also be flashlights.
-
Bungie said they wanted you to revisit and actually enjoy your time on Destiny. Not rip off Minecraft and Dead Space.
-
Would be nice if it was like the hellmouth area on the moon down below it was way more suspenseful, night time on earth & the other planets should feel more like that.
-
Edited by ArchangelMike: 7/27/2014 11:47:35 AMAfter playing the moon mission, and exploring the whole moon area I was like "YES!!! This is what I'm talking about." The atmosphere and the vibe totally creeped me out and I absolutely loved it! Especially the bit where you find the Guardian and the temple gates begin to open... "We've awoken the HIVE!!!...." That's the experience I have in mind when I think of nighttime gameplay. Obviously the daytime will come around and it'll go back to being all nice and sunny and colourful - if not we'd prolly all turn into nervous wrecks :))
-
I feel like only some places more deserted should fit that description, such as most places on the moon. However, with places like old Russia being somewhat structurally sound, it does not need to be horrifying.
-
Although I love this idea, I wouldn't want to make it too scary (like Amnesia). Perhaps a feeling of clammy unease at most?
-
So far the best suspense was that first time your about to see the Hive, down the dark tunnels with only the Ghosts light, warning about lots of movement and a bad feeling about this (possible Star Wars reference?) that was the best. Still tense every time I played it.
-
Bump for a good idea.
-
Great idea! Hopefully they make the Hellmouth scarier, was much too bright for a Hive lair.
-
Night time should be as scary as the moon caves
-
Bungie said behavior changes and other things like that at certain times of day but I don't think it was enough. I agree and feel the night should be scarier
-
I think it's fine how it is; real world if you go out at night under the moon with no artificial light you can see fine; your eyes adjust. Caves, indoors and such are a different story.
-
And sick sunsets
-
Agreed just like when the ghost goes into your helm for a flash light ( sure you have moonlighting but c'mon throw in some overcast)
-
yeah enemies should be tanked up when the sun goes down and drop better loot.
