I love the day night cycle , but it think Bungee missed a trick with the night time.
Imagine the sense of foreboding as you see the sun setting, knowing that the higher level Hive masters are going to be out in numbers, and that the darkness will cover the land making visibility limited without your ghost light.
Will you survive the night or succumb to the darkness....

This ain't minecraft.
-
Maybe take into effect a lunar cycle/ have some nights lighter some darker and those no light nights maybe throw in a good ol witching hour when mayhem would completely break out. Would make night definitely a hell of a lot more fun
-
Agreed. Some starlight would create a completely different atmosphere to play in. We need stars!

And now that the light has been brought up, I think it should be able to have it's own on/off toggle. It would be a big help so I could see what is a wall and what isn't. A night vision scope for a sniper rifle if you bought one would be epic too!
-
Oh Yeah. Absolutely.
-
Hive hoards should come out
-
Agreed, more and different kinds of enemies.
-
This would be absolutely amazing I love this idea
-
Would be awesome if we just had a massive area that the only light there is comes from your torch. The atmosphere in that area would be awesome!!
-
This! This would actually distinguish the day/night cycles a lot more! More powerful enemies at night! After all... They mostly come at night... Mostly...
-
1 comment HELL Yeah
-
Yes! I love this idea!! It would bring out a more terrifying sense to being in the dark as someone posted before that the fallen thrive in the dark.
-
Huh, yea dang. That would be totally bang'n
-
Thumbs up here...does sound awesome...Fear the dark... Would be a kewl pvp idea too... an area we could not only fight players but be up against Hive Masters & Fallen when it gets dark sounds like fun :)
-
and you should be able to have your ghost's flaslight to point the way!!
-
If you have to walk around the entire free roam area with a flashlight that's going to make it way less fun
-
Agreed
-
When the game first started, it seemed creepy/scary and exciting...but then the aliens proved to just be lame boring generic enemies
-
Agreed. Dragon's Dogma style. Okay, not exactly Dragon's Dogma style. But you get the idea.
-
I like this especially the stronger mobs

So why can't there numbers increase at night and some type of change on how they act?
-
Like the idea, should make it so that there are certain enemies that only come out at night with sharp gnashing teeth and large blood soaked claws.
-
I'm already scared to walk through a comm array on my own... Hive need to be everywhere at night though. 10/10. Would play.
-
Nighttime does affect enemies, so that's a start. Like the Cabal, you'd see more patrolling their outposts during the day than at night.
-
I can't even recall seeing nighttime gameplay while I was playing...
-
This is supposed to be a hopeful universe - having the night become a time of nightmares wouldn't fit with that.
