PLEASE DON'T ADD TRADING! !
I already commented this in response to a post.
"I think it would be a bad idea. It would have the effect Borderlands trading had. You'd get powerful green (and higher) weapons through trading and effectively lose the excitement of a nice loot drop from a boss because.... The weapon in your hand is already better than than nice sexy new weapon that just dropped from the boss you just spent a half hour fighting.
I think it would severely diminish the overall experience **cough**borderlands**cough**"

I agree, game doesn't feel like it needs trading really gives you something to work towards rather than getting things easy.

T> 5$ for all the loot of [Strike/Raid Mission] Not a lot of people know you can buy "pixels" for real money, but think about that famous youtuber and twitch streamer, who will receive tons of donation, earn the best items in the game ... than hit PvP and have a clear advantage over you and your friends and you can't do shit about it. I can't say enough how glad I am there are currently no plans for trading. Want something? Go play the game and get it. There's tons of ways to get gear upgrades in the beta alone. Can only get better with live.

Trading items would kill the game. For starters, Destiny will end up being listed on tons of 3rd party item webpages. Cheaters and rich players will be able to buy weapons and armor for real money off other people. But worst of all, it will attract advertisers! Can you imagine hanging around the tower and having tons sellers walk up to you saying: "Hey buddy, come visit www.**********.com! Super cheap weapons and armor from $1US to $5US!" Those kind of people are the worst. Bungie is gonna have to hire tons of new employees just to track all these sellers down and ban them on a daily basis!

I actually agree, as jealous as I am when a friend gets a better weapon than me if they can just give it to me I lose the thrill of trying to obtain that weapon or item myself.

Have the default cost of saleable items, be high enough to reflect the level income. Done. I've also noticed many of the anti trade people keep referring to Borderlands. Play a real MMO and see how an economy works. It adds replay value, also there is a reason most real MMOs have a separate currency and gear system for PvP and PvE, so things like Pay to Win don't occur often. In PvE are you mad some person beat a computer character before you did? Pffft. Borderlands is a 4 player sandbox, stop mentioning it. People saying they rather work for items, and don't want a friend to give them one, once again, you can't if it's soul or account bound. Borderlands is a rinky dink attempt at portraying to be an MMO, with its stats, and color code tier items. Anyone can just give you anything. Yeah, they did that ALL wrong. Calm your nerves...

I think trading will be dealt with through the postmaster. So if you be a rare weapon perfect for your friend you can just mail it to them. The game has already shown that you can get items, glimmer or messages through the postmaster.

If they allow gifting weapons and you don't want the weapon then why don't you just gift it back? Then continue on your way fighting bosses. It's unfair that other people should lose the opportunity to give their friend a weapon (a weapon they'd just destroy otherwise) when you can easily maintain your weapon finding enjoyment by not accepting the weapons others give you.

What is it with this forum, I've just started using it since the beta came out and a lot of you ppl seem to not like options. In fact you would rather take away options, so others have to play like you. This thread is just like those other threads about not wanting voice chat and not wanting beta progress to transfer over. Like if you don't want voice chat, Don't Use It. If You Don't Want Trading, Don't Trade. Same as with progress transferring over. Why interfere with other peoples games? you do you and let them do them smh

I kinda wanted trading at first, but the more i thought about it the more I remembered how it cheapened the otherwise great loot systems in the two borderlands gamed. Also, within short order there was a save file editor you could easily use to fill you inventory with legendaries, and while I suspect our bungie profiles may prevent anything like that (is character data even saved locally?), having such easy access to legendary equipment made all loot drops less special.

I see other people's comments on here and I agree with a certain point. Allow trading but only certain things lime ammo. During a fight and need ammo allow a friend to give ammo. Or wanting to buy something and miss it by a few pieces of glimmer. Allow me to lend some over!

1 ReplyWhat about you can only trade a rarity for the same rarity. But also the weapons could be sorted into groups by a level that is based on how powerful the weapon is and can only be traded with another weapon in the same level. This would prevent powerful weapons from being traded with weaker weapons. So like you have your starter weapon but you don't like the gun type so you trade it for another in the same level. So to trade it has to be same weapon level, group (special, heavy, primary) and the same rarity. Other things can be traded based on rarity.

If I end up with a duplicate rare weapon drop at the end of a Strike, I'd happily give it away to someone who has been grinding for it for hours to no avail. This seems like a reasonable solution. Diablo 3 did it, and it works.

I disagree, trading and auction houses are the back bone of an MMO inventory system. Also bungie has already stated that trading will be enabled, just not at launch because they want to make sure it wont kill the in game economy.

Borderlands dropped nice loot?, i must have missed that with all the shit drops that had my party was fighting over any decent ones. After playing that shit loot system from Borderlands 2, i'm fking happy to get my own drops. Anyways, they won't flip over the no trading rule. I agree with the no trading rule, people should earn their drops. I would like to trade friends common to uncommon drops(white - greens), but im sure everyone will do ok. Forcing people to change up what they use can open them to different weapons. Trading in this game shouldn't happen, earn your shit weaklings.

I disagree... Better weapons than the one you may of traded to gain, can still be dropped.
