  • I know, I was shaking my head when it became apparent how unsocial this game currently is. However, I'm hopeful it will improve.

  • There are going to be 6 man strikes at end game and most likely overall 6 man missions by that point, not to mention the 6 man crucible fireteams. Clans also allow people to meet new people with a similar playstyle and allow for different people to play with when your main allies are offline.

  • Understood, I know what function clans serve, I was mostly being sarcastic. 6 person fireteams may be OK if you come from a background of COD, Battlefield, HALO and other similarly minded games. However, if your background is similar to mine, this is completely not acceptable as it alienates friends and limits who I can play with at any given time. I am used to games like SOCOM, MAG and DUST 514: games where 16v16 is the norm and typical clan sizes start in 20 - 30 member count. In DUST 514, my clan (corporation) has over 100 members and during peak popularity, could have anywhere from 30 to 60 members on in a night. I want to play a game socially with my friends I have made along the way in my gaming career, I am not saying Destiny needs to get massive 32v32 game modes but fireteams of 3 and 6 is simpley too small for a "social game"

  • Expectations versus reality. This was never going to be the case. Destiny is a console FPS. It's been marketed toward those who enjoy CoD and Halo and the like. This is what we were expecting. Albeit the closed off chat is an issue that should be fixed. Proximity chat isn't necessary, but PvP, strikes, and raids should definitely force you to into game chat. Outside of that though, your complaints are falling on deaf ears. We have built clans as a way to party up with others who have similar interests and goals as us. We're building communities and making friends and making sure we get to play with the people we want to in Destiny. That's the purpose of a clan, just like it was the purpose of clans in other AAA FPS.

  • Perhaps I did not research enough and assumed that when a company said they were making something that had never been done before and making a game that was going to be social, I though I would be able to play with all my friends and not 2/5 at a time.
