OK, I'm assuming many of you have seen these two posts: the person who wants to play Destiny with others within the LGBT/Furry community, and the person who wants to play with Christians. Now let me say first this is not going to devolve into a theological or argument about morals. When the guy(or girl) who made his post about playing with other Christians, his thread was torn apart. He, his beliefs, and anyone who sided with him were discriminated and made fun of. He was told countless times that he was wrong and stupid for believing what he did.
Now today there was another post made by a guy(or girl) wishing to play with with those in the LGBT and "furry" communities. This thread, thankfully, was met with nothing but kind words and willingness to play, even by those who were not LGBT.
Why is there a difference between the responses to the Christian post and the LGBT/furry post? Neither was condemning those who didn't think like them, simply asking to play with like-minded people of similar backgrounds, yet one was discriminated and made fun of. Why is this OK? We supposedly live in this generation of tolerance, where everyone's beliefs and lifestyles are to be accepted, so why the intolerance? Everybody should remember the Golden rule, treat others the way you want to be treated.
Ok guys, it's getting a little out of hand. This is not a topic about religion, it is about respecting each other. Remember, just be nice to people. It doesn't cost anything. You're not required to agree with them, but do not belittle or discriminate against them for thinking differently than you do.

Edited by Miiji: 7/23/2014 5:29:57 AMI think all of those threads were made by trolls. Trolls that are now laughing as they enjoy your petty struggle to find reason.

"Tolerance" is just another way of saying "I support a certain group of people." True tolerance doesn't exist, because it's literally impossible to do so. There's always going to be somebody who gets under your skin, rubs you the wrong way, or who you cannot agree with or support.
-
Stop bitching about tolerance bullshit on a online forum.

>on the internet >people being nice Pick one.

I saw both posts and I agree the X man got slammed undeserving so. He should feel free to look for like minded just as much as gay and fuzzy or dads only or AA or BDSM likes walks on the beach..... Live and let live should be the golden rule not treat others as you'd like to be treated. Because when it comes to it some people just love the abuse....like me

I think a big problem is that due to Christianity being a major religion that has a large following it is bound to have a huge following of blathering idiots who have misguided beliefs. I'm a Christian and gosh darn it if I'm not infuriated by some of my "fellow believers" ideas. A lot of these people honestly shouldn't be considered Christian to begin with since their beliefs are so misguided. Not only that but I wouldn't be surprised if some legitimate open anti Christians went out of their way to pose as Christians with insane radical beliefs JUST to give a horrible impression of actual Christians. Most of the non bigot real deal Christians, AKA the love your neighbor whatever they be kinda people, don't go about spouting their views because that would be crude and rude. What I'm saying is please ignore most of these so called "Christians" trolls going around being massive jerks. Most of us hate them just as much as you.

If you been here as long as I have you having seen anything yet. We furries get alot of hate. I am not saying all of us are angels on this forum but the vast majorities of us know that not everyone like our interest so we don't shove it down your throat. But on the other side of the coin The people who don't like our interest should just ignore the odd threat we make. Come on people it's like one in 500.

Even though I was raised in the Catholic faith, which up until recently, were very anti-LGBT. The older generation of Catholics and a few younger ones are still anti-LGBT, but overall, many have softened their views, or are in support for LGBT rights. I am one of the few Catholics that are openly for the LGBT rights, even though I'm pretty much seen as an outcast in my own religious community. I believe in equal rights for everyone, and it doesn't matter whether someone is gay, lesbian, trans, or whatever. It doesn't matter if someone is religious or not. Everyone is equal.

How did this get 800+ replies in one day, and why don't I recognize most of these posters?

If you don't have anything nice to say, really, don't say it at all.

Edited by Krutorian: 7/22/2014 10:39:58 PMNothing in life is truly uni-dimensional. When we do things as people, most of us tend to gravitate towards that which is familiar, elementally similar, and fundamentally a safe environment for us to be ourselves with minimal inhibitions about anything. It's unfortunate that some people are so afraid of the world, their life, and even themselves that they are compelled to be prejudice, hostile, and even violent against others because they aren't strong enough, smart enough, or resourceful enough to know themselves and be the nature of what humanity as a whole is: diversity... If you don't like Christians, then be happy they are trying to create a dedicated clan. It means that you'll eventually interact with them less because they took the effort to assemble and enjoy this awesome game with people they are similar to, which obviously isn't you. See how reasoning works? If you don't like them and they are interested in being on their own with their own, then the two of you have a similar agenda...That goes for all distinctions between us... Now, I'm not specifically of any religious association myself, but I can tell you this: Any of you that show prejudice, malevolence, or cowardice, towards your fellow gamers, will never get to be a part of the end game competitive Clans that I will lead or ally myself with. Thanks to this forum, I will have the chance to audit your behaviors, your flaws, the very quality of who you are. If you're found wanting, you will be judged, and there is nothing you'll ever be able to do to escape my will regarding it... Do have fun never quite measuring up to the traits needed to be a successful player in this community... So much for tolerance...

People get defensive about their beliefs, even if there belief is no belief.I do think that the person who posted the play with other Christians person was being ignorant though, what does someone believing in the same old book as you have to do with having fun while playing a game?did he or she want to have bible study over the mic?
-
Mayby because the Bible says you shall not kill? Since its virtual is up for a debate. Dont shoot me down for having an opinion or lousy grammar. I dont mind everyone having their own group btw. Live and let live i say.
-
When a majority oppresses a minority for so long what exactly do you expect to happen when the tables are turned. Not that everyone in either group agrees with their peers but, the loudest and most vocal people tend to be the most judgmental and ignorant ones.
-
I think everybody is forgetting the most important rule...No Body Cares!!! No one in these forums or any such related forum is going to hunt down the haters are they. People like to speak their mind and say their piece no matter the point and people will want there point to be the loudest. The worst are those who actually post the responses (thus making me a hypocrite with this post) just ignore pointless online ramblings and get on with the stuff you actually care about.

There is no difference Both should be flamed just as equally
