add Hijacking for vehicles

it seems many people are in agreement that the vehicles are very hard to deal with right now. I suggest adding Hijacking into the game just like what you had in Halo. the drivers should be punished for letting a player get so close. as it stands right now players must either get luck head/body shots or simply run away. EDIT: hey, im all for using skill when it comes to the game. I even got a few lucky headshots this weekend. this would be one more ability for those occasions when we don't have heavy ammo/supers http://i.minus.com/i4Y05DDVpUuFD.gif http://i.minus.com/iOHM9chNppPU5.gif

  • Yeah that would be great. Since it would make vehicle domination less OP

  • This is a huge problem. The vehicles are almost indestructible and it's so difficult to not die with them in the game. Hijacking should be a feature, or have more heavy ammo available on maps so the vehicles are so OP

  • I made a thread about this yesterday, and I'm glad the same idea caught on! Hijacking should definitely be added!

I'm surprised this hasn't been implemented yet. This should definitely be in the game. That frigen tank vehicle is OP!

Bump, Halo style. Bungie could also give the vehicles critical hit points like the NPC enemies and bosses to give the game a feel of consistency.

    • I feel like they shouldn't even bother, first of all the tanker shouldn't even be that dumb to allow you to even get that close, because most of the time the tanker you can very easily see when someone is approaching by looking at the radar and act accordingly.

      • I agree with this only under the pretense of competitive multiplayer ( crucible ) and NOT "explore" mode... I want to always be in control of my sparrow and I do not want any one to be able to steal my custom sparrow at any time.

        • I disagree. From the side or back you can easily shoot the driver of both the Pike and the Interceptor in the head, and do mostly full damage. I wouldn't mind seeing the 'mostly' disappear, of course. Also, supers are so frequent if you actually utilize orbs of light, that vehicles can actually die depressingly quickly if everyone in the game is pretty good. Currently heavy weapons can take out vehicles pretty fast too.

        • I disagree. In Halo games, as soon as you are hijacked, you are basically immobile for a few seconds, save for slowly turning. Most players take advantage of this and kill you as soon as you are kicked out of your vehicle. What's worse is when you have low to no shields and they hijack you: instakill. Like others said before me, it is generally easy to kill enemies in vehicles. Just aim for the head or use your heavy weapon/turret/own vehicle to destroy them. P.S. This is coming from somebody who has a low KD in the beta right now. I am not worried, though, as beta stats don't carry over into the full game.

          • Don't agree at all. There are a lot of solutions to vehicles and frankly I like that people tend to save up class abilities to deal with them as opposed to ruining a perfectly good 1 v 1 fight with an instant gib.

Undecided on that. On one hand, if you're team does not do anything about the vehicles (like everyone just runs away and leaves them standing there, then the other team will have an advantage. Vehicle beats Soldier, especially early on when there are no supers or Heavy Ammo, yet. If you're in front of one you mostly die, especially the Interceptor. On the other hand, Turrets (mostly) beat Vehicles - as long as you keep it in front of you. I think the Turrets are pretty well placed to do just that, deny vehicle reign. Thing is, if you face a coordinated team that communicates with randoms, the vehicles, turrets and the way you can snipe enemies out of turrets can make it a pretty one-sided affair. Not just because of the vehicles, but they can quickly shift the momentum. Personally, I think maybe the vehicle spawns should be staggered like the Heavy Weapon Ammo. As in: Not there at the Start. Would give people a better fighting chance. Of course, even better would be that the team that is on the losing side gets vehicles more often than the winning team. Kinda like in TC's Endwar, where you get an extra Nuke when you're about to lose, like a last ditch effort... But people are just gonna cry about that ("Oh, I'm so good, I got a 30 K/D, why should the people that suck get vehicles, I needs them!").

            • TURRETS. They're not hard to take out at all seriously guys. You guys just give up after a few shots of your primary. These threads all arise (and trend) out of pure frustration. Stay calm guys, they're not hard to take out at all. You just gotta stay focused, and not rage so easily.

            • Disagree. Vehicles can be dealt with easily if you know how. The only way they win is on a 1 on 1 in the open if you don't have a super or heavy ammo. It's far too early to call anything OP. There are some very obviously strong strategies in PvP and a lot of people haven't really figured out how to deal with them. One thing I have noticed is that a lot of people don't really realize the importance of vehicles and heavy ammo. I am still seeing people not get the vehicles at the start or go for heavy ammo.

            • Not sure atm, you wont always have a special ready to use, heavy ammo or wont be close to a turret to take out vehicles but when you do they dont stand a chance. I feel like you should ALWAYS have a way to defend yourself in any situation in a game but adding hijaking could make vehicles useless with guradians slew of options to countering vehicles.

I hate getting owned by vehicles... That being said, they are pretty easy to take out if you play as a team. Too many people just try to run by themselves.

              • I'm seeing a few disagrees for my suggestion arguing that supers/heavy ammo/turrets are enough to deal with the vehicles. while those are some ways to deal with them adding hijacking would really help in the situations where those other options aren't available. I have been confronted with an Interceptor with no heavy ammo, super or teammate manning the turret many times. allowing us to deal with vehicles in those situations would help tremendously, it would still take skill to get close enough for a button prompt and it would make driver think twice about what they do. it really doesn't tip the scales as much as you think. it just gives us one more tool to use when all the other options are not viable.

              • I disagree. The vehicles are very easy to deal with. You can shoot people right off Pikes, or shoot the Pikes themselves and they die rapidly. As for Interceptors, people have a variety of heavy weapons as well as the immensely useful stationary turrets.

              • I agree my friend. I always gets owned by the enemy vehicles. I like having them for travel and like the thrill of running from them if i can but its so hard when i get ganged up on by them. If not hijacking nerf them a bit. I like seeing them there for creativity and everything but they wipe out people capturing zones if their team is camping on the vehicles.
