"Void shield (purple) has not yet been seen."
I don't believe this to be the case as on the IGN stream I noticed a few things with black shields, would this perhaps be the void component you're missing?

I'm assuming that you're talking about the black crystal-looking shield Hive Knights use? I think that's just a skill that negates all incoming damage. I'll try it out with a Void Elemental weapon though just to confirm.

Ive seen them a few times and yea the void shield guys don't seem to be effected by elementals from what ive noticed ill find out later today to test that
