Windows Phone 8(i mean win10 universal app) Companion App Request Please
Its officially been a year now guys and girls.
Bungie doesnt give a flying -blam!-

Just wanted there to be a thread so Bungie can see there actually are people on here that use a Windows Phone. Its not as uncommon as youd think and im certain its well within Bungies capabilities to produce an app for Windows Phone 8. (Even Rockstar did it albeit late)
Whats even better is with cross compatible apps, any app on Windows Phone can be downloaded and work flawlessly on the windows 8.1 app store so people with surface tablets (or any windows 8 tablets) can use it too.
Help all of us become the guardians you want us to be (not just the major market share).

Until Bungie decide to release a companion app, a legend from these forums has taken upon the task of bringing an app for us windows phone users to enjoy.

Someone on reddit posted a link to a 3rd party companion app for destiny. They said it was pretty good. I haven't had a chance to check it out. No matter how good it is an official app will always be better.

What your forgetting is its not just Windows Phone 8 they are missing! With Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1 they have a thing called Universal Apps, in short it means that most of the coding if not all can run on Windows Phone and Windows Desktop PC! Now is that a big enough market for you?

1 ReplyToss my request into the ring, I am confused as to why they wouldn't want the app available for Windows PC's (85% of the market) and Windows Phones around 6% of the market? If you combine the two you have a few billion people that would gain access to the app through additional devices they own.

Surely there are a few people high up in the decision making chain that have noticed that people want a WP8 app. I think we may not see it at launch, but it could come soon after the IOS and Android versions have been bug ridden Bungie is confident they can port it over efficiently.

I would love to have access to the Destiny companion app on Windows Phone. It is a great platform, though small, but it is growing. I know many people that would love to use the app on their Windows devices.

Edited by Meta Sentient: 7/18/2014 8:13:47 PMI'll add my voice to this one, I knew when i bought my Lumia 820 i was buying into a young market with a small market share and there would be many apps i would miss out on, but as i see the companion app and think about the amount of lore i could catch up on in my down time i'm thinking this would be worth being vocal about. Its a growing market with most importantly some of your fans, if it is at all possible and doesn't force you to break the bank in development and publishing costs, please build the app. Thanks for everything anyway even if you can't.
