With the size of the universe and the apparent rarity of live-bearing planets, it is unlikely that any alien species would ever get to us, if it could even find us (or us them). I remain open to the possibility of such an event, but it seems to me that the odds are not even close to being in the favor of extraterrestrial enthusiasts.
