The warlock has the weakest armor. I'm just wondering how much weaker it actually feels in a firefight. Is it a huge difference when compared to the hunter and titan armor?

Edited by Voldaris: 7/6/2014 4:40:05 AMYes. Warlock felt weaker. I got hit by a hive that was behind me while on my warlock. One hit dropped me to a sliver of health. Same thing happened later on my titan. Same area, same mob type. I still had over half my overall health. But dont forget that you can specialize your skill tree to give your warlock the same amount of armor as a striker.

I only played titan and warlock in the alpha and yes the titans armor felt significantly stronger to me.

Titan 80 armor 20 cloth warlock 80 cloth 20 armor but warlock had faster regeneration of health

2 RepliesThe armor system is set as shown below. X=armor/Y=Cloth Titan-80/20 Strong shield, slow regen. moderate average damage. Hunter-50/50 even shield and regen. slightly higher average damage. Warlock-20/80 weak shield but fast regen. highest average damage.

The warlocks first focus void walker has a primary specialization is recovery and a secondary in speed so it's armor was the weakest of the three. There were upgrades that would allow this to change but we did not have access to those in the alpha.

2 Repliesdont send a warlock to do a hunter job
-
Depends on equipment over anything. Also please see the calculator because you can spec a warlock into armor and be pretty close to a titan

7 RepliesThe only dissatisfying aspect of the Warlock I found was its glide, but apparently I was doing it wrong so...
-
No. I leveled the warlock and Titan to 8 and the hunter to 5 and honestly the hunter felt the weakest. The warlocks regen makes up for it's armor.

3 RepliesI clocked in at 42 hours played in the crucible during Alpha at a high skilled level, and the Warlocks felt great. Their grenade was great, the super is devastating. A great player can decimate with them man

Edited by FairlySplendid: 7/6/2014 12:21:51 AMYes. If you go from Titan to Warlock, or Titan to Hunter for that matter, you will notice a difference. But it boils down to your personal play-style. Depending on the way you play, it will either be really apparent or hardly noticeable.

When I played it, yes it was. I was taking on a devil walker with another warlock and Titan by my side and they went down while I was still up. All you need to do is be smart and I can teach you how to warlock
-
Yeah. But it's balanced out by shield recharge time

Yes in pve. Not in pvp.

1 ReplyEdited by Cordic_Cyberpunk: 7/5/2014 10:38:30 PMI was going to play the Warlock at release time and was so happy for the Magic class. But after seeing how fast the Warlock dies in the Alpha I do not think I can play it without getting pissed at how weak it is. I plan on only playing one class for release and I wanted it to be the Warlock but I can not get over how weak the Shield/health is they have. So if i do not worry about any Super/grenades the only class to play is Titan. 80% of the damage we will do will be with Primary weapon only so all we need then is to Survive. The rest, like Supers and grenades, are just screen eye candy and are situational at best. So Primary Weapon+Shields+Health=Best Guardian in my eyes! Once I have a Exotic Auto Rifle or w/e for my Primary Weapon thats it. Most likely will not need any other weapon period. Since the drop rate for Secondary and Heavy ammo is a joke and the amount we can hold for those ammo slots is so very small, whats the point in even worrying about more then one weapon? Get a good primary and then only worry about Gear and Talents after that. :)

I thought the hunter had the weakest armor and Warlock was in the middle

Edited by Harkiel: 7/5/2014 8:27:41 PMIn the beginning you can tell the armor is weak; However the Stat bars actually matter in Destiny. I could tell a slight noticeable difference with the subclass stat upgrades. If everything stays close in beta you should be able to tell. Also I wouldn't worry to much about the armor stat. All guardians are highly customizable from a stat perspective depending on how you build your subclass. As blitz said the regen is super fast. Hylebos is right about the glide although I enjoyed it. From a pvp perspective I expect the "Blink" ability will be superior.

Honestly I never played the other classes so I don't know, but I'll tell you this. I as a Warlock, outlived my team several times so as long as you get a little bit creative you should be just fine.
-
It's a hair weaker but not much. I think depending on your focus you can boost your recovery, ( which seemed faster, maybe that's just me ) with certain abilities.
-
Honestly, it barely felt any different from the Titan. The only thing I personally felt was that it was straight up all around better than the Titans.
-
9 RepliesWarlocks are pretty damn squishy until you get some good gear.
-
I kinda noticed that my shield would drop faster than that of my Titan, but the Regen is way better on the Lock.
-
You can feel the difference with the titan, but the warlock and hunter arent that much different, I noticed it, but most dont

For me they didn't really feel lighter in armor and titans didn't feel slower either. It really come down to a few things. Skill, mitigating damage, and finding gear that jives with you. If you have those then everyone is pretty much on an even playing ground. However, that is for PvP. PvE I did feel I died quicker as a warlock but I did get into more trouble as a warlock. The Titan lasted longer but took a bit longer to take things down. The great thing about destiny is that gear, play style, and class all mix so that pretty much no ones experience is going to be the exact same.

Yeah but your shields do recharge much faster as a warlock. Honestly if is an issue id say just dont use him in PVP
