Why are you excited for a heavily abused glitch?
-
Because its how Halo 2 is supposed to be. I played Halo 2 for years and it was a great time of my childhood. I also made my borther ragequit in BXR battles. He could beat me in any gametype, any map. But BXR's were MY strong point. Plus I'm ready to see all of the scrubs get mad.
-
Your strong point? It's a three button combo anyone can do that destroys weapon balance. The only reason you have fond memories of it is because you played it as a child. Also an overly abused exploit is definitely not what Bungie had in mind when making Halo 2.
-
Bungie didn't know what they were doing in general and accidentally made it awesome.
-
LOL BxR does not destroy balance in anyway. A shotgun and sword still destroys up close against a BR. Bungie might not have had it in mind but they sure must have not found it to be much of a bother as they never patched it
-
Doesn't matter man, granted I'll give ya the chilldhood part. It makes me feel nostalgic. On the other hand, its more of a technique than an exploit lol. Not everyone can perform a BXR. Just like how everyone can't superbounce, swordcancel, butterfly, or hell even grenade and crouch jumping.

Edited by Failure4Life: 6/20/2014 5:12:37 PMNot everyone could noobtube across the map in CoD yet it was still fixed and with a game devoid of balance like that that should say something. An exploit even if difficult to perform isn't a measure of skill but rather a show of the ability to abuse the broken, most people would refer to it as a "crutch". BXR'ing isn't a counterable tactic thus it is unfair. The only way to outplay someone BXR'ing is to BXR yourself which is fundamentally broken in terms of balance.
-
What I read:
The only way to outplay someone shooting you is to shoot them yourself which is fundamentally broken in terms of balance.
-
Except shooting is an intentional part of the game that doesn't destroy balance.
-
isn't counterable
Uh strafe and ghandi hopping
-
LOL A crutch? A crutch is something that makes bad players good such as armor lock or jetpack. The BxR and even the more skilled Quad shot is something that only good players do.
-
Edited by Failure4Life: 6/20/2014 5:14:02 PMIt takes less than 30 minutes to perfect a BXR. I know when my brother showed me it it took 4 attempts and I was then able to do it perfectly every time. You yourself even said it was easy to do.
All ya got to do is press BxR it is not like we are talking about anything that complicated.
-
It's so refreshing to know there is someone else put there that understands this.
-
Not every could noobtube across the map in CoD yet it was still fixed and with a game devoid of balance like that that should say something.
Actually lol'd picturing that. Your points make sense so I'm not trying to like downtalk you, but I'd rather have BXR's thean not have them and its just my preference. But there are ways around it, just don't get within range to get BXR'd. For EX: There won't be any new balancing, so the SMG Plamsa Rifle combo will still devastate people. Same for the Plasma Pistol, it was literally a homing device in Halo 2. This kinda explains my points.
-
But there are ways around it, just don't get within range to get BXR'd.
Your tactic to avoid BXR'ing is literally just to avoid them? Halo has the golden triangle of guns, grenades, and melee. You are asking people to break one of those integral pieces because you believe a blatantly overpowered exploit benefits a game.
-
Dude, Halo is not that deep man. You pick up a gun and shoot kids. Your arguments against BXR'ing is like telling someone that they won't die if you run in front of a Sniper or Beam Rifle. It's most likely going to happen whether you like it or not, so just adapt to it and learn to get around it. Not everyone liked armor lock but there wasn't shit you could do about it unless you just avoided that player until you could kill him, or use it yourself and out-armor lock him.
-
You mean button combos that raised competitive Halo to levels it hasn't seen since? It has always been a pet peeve of mine that when you get into a close battle that you hit a guy and then have to wait 2 seconds just to hit him again. At least in 2 you can hit and shoot or double hit
-
New heights? It was used in competitive simply because the massive advantage it gave. It was completely unbalanced and unfair hence it wasn't in ANY future games.
-
Yes new heights. it made CQC battles awesome. These button glitches also made the game fast pace. Literally every pro and competitive player will agree. It did not unbalance anything. Close quarter weapons still outclassed the BR. It is not unfair if everyone can do it with ease. All ya got to do is press BxR it is not like we are talking about anything that complicated. And like the other guy said: This is Halo 2 Anniversary why would they start changing things? People want the game exactly how it was.
