Bigger than skyrim?
Does anyone know if destiny is bigger than skyrim, and if so how big in relation to skyrim? Since the alpha was pretty big and it is less than 10% of the game, there is a good chance that it could be bigger than skyrim (dont forget the dungeons and underground areas, like the blackreach or whatever it is called).

Yes, destiny is bigger, the alpha was just [b]one area on earth, there are other areas on earth[/b] and...we haven't seen a [b]real[/b] tutorial of alpha in destiny, it's bigger than skyrim, bigger than elder scrolls online? I'm not sure.

While both games have the open-world concept we love including the seamless transitions to zone, Skyrim has it perks over Destiny and vice versa. Skyrim literally has the ability for you to walk pretty much anywhere, whether it's up a vertical mountain or not. Destiny has a more rail type exploration but the word "rail" is a very harsh word, so I'll say "guided"... Exploration in destiny you will most definitely come across kill walls that you would assume should be explorable. The thing that I see that destiny has over Skyrim is once again the idea of seamless transitions into zones, their strike missions move directly into an "instance" without any load screen which is very pleasant. Skyrim however does have these load screens. So in comparison with each other with some features means that there will be a slight "lack" of features in some areas... But all in all in the alpha I found the exploration still to be enticing, just not as extreme as Skyrim.

Devs have compared it to the size of WoW when it was first released. so it should definitely be bigger than skyrim.

1 ReplyAs a huge fan of Skyrim myself, I think that Destiny's world is likely to be bigger (including strikes and raids.) However, I can't wait to see how they compare gameplay-wise. Skyrim is one of my favourite games but I think, that by September 9th, Destiny will be up there with Skyrim, Minecraft, WOW and Red Dead Redemption as one of my favourite games of all time :3
