So in Destiny's newest trailer, Jason Jones tells us about "The Vault of Glass".
It starts a 5:50 in the above video. It is and i quote "the most challenging experience we have ever created." What do you think is in the Vault of Glass?
From the video, and the brief look at it, it almost looked like an agility course, as the floor was magically appearing, and disappearing quickly. Making the guardians in the video have to jump to the new floor, before the one they are on disappeared. You will no doubt have to fight something(s) in this vault, but what could it be? Could it be the "darkness"?
Theory
There are to possibilities, one is more likely than the other to me.
The first possibility is that the Vault of Glass is an end game type raid. Bungie has said before that raids will be some of the hardest content in Destiny, it would only make sense for the last one to be this Vault of Glass. Right before you actually see in the Vault of Glass, it shows six players walking to it. We know that raids in Destiny contain six players. There is a very good chance that the Vault of Glass is a end game raid.
The second possibility is that it is the end of Destiny's "story", at least for the first game. As the final boss battle/ruin you have to escape/fight through, it would make sense for this to be the hardest. It could so show us more of the "darkness" as i said before.
I personally believe that it is an end game raid, as we know that some of the raids will be extremely hard until you reach the "end" of the game. In most games raids give the best rewards out of anything and Jason says "earn Destiny's ultimate rewards". So we know some of, if not, the best rewards in Destiny will come from this "Vault of Glass".
What do you guardians think is in this Vault of Glass?

I hope it's the vault of ass and it's full of booty
-
I thinks it's a Vanguard mission. When you look on the navigator map in that video(also where people discovered the Reef) there is an icon called Vanguard next to Crucible. I think Vanguard missions will be end game quests that give lots of loot and maybe teams of 6 participate in.

Edited by MALTHUSIA: 6/22/2014 8:25:37 PMBest post I have seen in a long time right here. Thank you for contributing to the community in a positive way. The Vaulted Glass as we have seen is definitely going to push our fps platforming skills to the test. I believe you could be right but I'm willing to bet the Vaulted Glass is not end game content it is probably something we can find out in the environment on its own right. I am also willing to bet that this game will end on a cliffhanger kind of note, much as Halo CE did. A contained story in its own right but a sense of a much larger scale and purpose to everything going on including the persistent advancement of the Darkness. Only time will tell. For those of us who have waited and to continue to wait to become legend I salute you all. Regardless of our preferred platforms we should stand together as guardians and drive back the Darkness that threatens to end our very existence. I hope to see you all starside.

Food, lots of food. And a bathroom. The two things crucile to life, yet have never been used in video games. Also, I specualte there will be a Halo Reach Tribute Room esque easter egg, as an omage and allusion to past times

It'll be Master Chief
-
I already covered this
-
I wonder how many people know about the Black Garden?
Probably not a lot.
-
I'm glad the size of raid teams is relatively small. Organizing 20+ or 40+ people for raid-type content in other games is such a pain in the ass unless you've got some really solid players. But then again, 90% of the people are just fine. That last 10% causes all the wipes and headaches.

I think it'll be Digistruct Peak, Bungie style.
-
The vault of glass is a raid. Judging from the way they talked about it, it will probably be the only raid available at launch. They will definitely add more in the future though.
-
Vault of Glass will be the name of the Raid. You can team up with 6 friends and according to bungie u will spend hours upon hours in a raid. Tho when u might get to the very end u will be rewarded with the best of the best gear. Im thrilled and i really cant wait to participate in it later on in the game!

Judging by the style of the architecture, my first thought was an end game raid on Venus involving the Vex.
-
Personally I think its the first option. One of the first named of the end game raids.
-
I just came here to say, that I got a huge boner when I saw the Vault of Glass in the video.
-
Raid, and the final boss will be....
Chuck Norris... Good luck!
-
I think it is probably the first of the endgame raids. They wouldn't advertise if it was so special and secret.

Edited by LbN SneaK: 6/17/2014 5:03:34 PMWonder if the vault of glass is inside the traveller ....
-
It seems like an endgame to the endgame. They call it the hardest challenge they've ever created. Do any of you remember Halo 2 LASO?
-
I think that the vault of glass will function similar to the god king in "Infinity Blade" where you always have the opportunity to fight him, but you won't succeed until you're strong enough. The vault of glass might be like this, where everyone has the opportunity to attempt it, but only the experts will succeed.

A massive bubble opens after the hardest fight of your life to reveal... an elite wort!wort!wort!
-
Probably the gate that brought the Vex back in time. But that's just my guess.
-
First off: How do we get into the Vault of Glass? How will the Crucible work in determining who gets in?
-
In the video it just looked like jumping on boxes that disappear a bunch of times but seeing how Bungie has revealed much about the story it's probably more than that, I hope.
-
End game raid, post Destiny's main story line. imo, anyway.

It's called a vault if glass, glass is transparent, swagfágs are transparent and stupid, the final boss is a stoned swagfág.
