Is the way it's coloured.
Like how some of the undersuit changes colour with your primary armour colour.
And how the secondary colour is just a few stripes here and there.
If it was like how it was in Reach, where full pieces of armour changed with the primary and secondary, and how the undersuit wasn't changed with your primary.
If it was like Reach, the armour wouldn't look that bad.
What I'd like to see in Halo 5, is the ability to select each part of your armour individuality and change the colour of said part.
They should be separated like so:
-Helmet
-Chest
-Upper arm
-Forearm
-Hands
-Upper legs
-Lower legs
-Feet
It'd allow for a lot of whacky looking Spartans (in a good way).
Just thought I'd put this out there and see what others think.

Problem with halo 4 armor is that everyone looked like a power ranger
-
The entire texture template and lighting system in that game is messed up and horrifically artificial.

Edited by BritLemon: 9/8/2015 11:07:38 AMAdding stuff after more than a year. Just look how better they are with a full colour undersuit. Just give me blue armor and an EVA helmet, I don't care what I look like.
-
The problem with Halo 4 and 5 armor is that it's not Reach armor. Just about every armor piece in Reach looked great, in Halo 4 and probably 5 only some armor looked good.
-
Every game has less armor physically on the spartan. Pretty soon they'll have speedos and nipple pads.
-
The only thing I liked about halo 4's armor was the legs customization. It was limited but for a new addition,I liked it
-
Reach had the most realistic armor, it wasn't too crazy to think that type of armor could some day exist
-
My main issue with the armor in Reach was there were very few full sets. I don't mind if other players mix and match armor components, but I didn't like the fact that there were so many helmets that didn't have a distinct chest plate or shoulder set to go with it. I liked the detail, but overall I'm more of a fan of the armor in 3/4/5 because of the matching sets and overall variety. I do hope the undersuit looks black/grey in Halo 5 though, it was weird having the colors blend in like that.
-
Am I the only one who...
prefered Halo 4's customization?
I'd rather change my legs than change my boots, and change my whole chestpiece than add a little box or something to my chest. Plus there's more visor colors, and stuff isn't unlocked by grinding massive amounts of credits, it's unlocked through level ups.
-
I miss my Reach armor. Regardless of your thoughts on Reach in general, you can't deny that the Spartan armor customization was the best in the series. Also, don't forget to add knee pads to that list. Hell, why not, let's have different colored cod pieces too.

Edited by ZUON: 9/17/2015 12:30:04 AMAm I the only one who thought the S-IVs' bodies looked non-proportional in reference to what a spartan would normally appear?
-
Good point. I personally detested basically every piece of chest armor and most of the shoulder armor in Halo 4. Not very many of either category had that 'plated armor' look that distinguished Bungie's Spartan variants. The colored under-armor and the look of it altogether reminded me too much of something I'd see in Dick's Sporting Goods. Also, the visors could've been more reflective and shiny.
-
Regardless of how you feel about reach, I think everyone can agree it had the best armor in the series.
-
My opinion is that 343 figured that because they could rаpe all the armor with polygons, they were obligated to do so. As a result, all armor in the game was too complex and lacked simplicity. It was complex for the sake of complexity, and ended up fairly ugly because of this.
-
Yeah, I hope the armors not like how it was in the Beta. That sucked. But it seems to be what the new direction is.
-
Halo 4s armor was also too plasticky and didn't look right
-
I approve.
-
Personally I want to personalise my Spartan more like how Reach had, I think the different armour variations were one of the best parts of the multiplayer
-
I hated how they looked all plasticky
-
I agree. Reach had incredible customization options.
-
The armour was the only good thing about reach.
-
FOTUS is my favorite so far. I think it's cool how it's basically reverse engineered Promethean technology.
-
But in Halo this is war, you should be focusing on what you look like. Just how your going to kill the enemy.

Omfg this thread is from a year ago

Am I gay for liking FOTUS?
