How Rude!!!
As a Community member how do you usually handle other members who are rude to you. Do you want to get back at them or do you go through the proper channels to get results. What's your method?

Either a mute or I ignore them. It varies depending on my mood or if it is a repeat offender.

A bit of both. It depends on the situation. Sometimes I report them, other times I just flay them alive. You know, normal reactions.

I have not had too may instances of this happening, but when it does it's usually somebody I don't recognize as a 'common' member. My way to deal with them is (process of elimination); -make an attempt to show them their error in judgement -ignore them -report them if they cross the CoC -mute them Most commonly ignoring them is all it takes, but in a few instances it is clear that they will not relent in being a total dick, so they go bye bye. I have noticed that these particular individuals end up banned. Wonder why that is. Hmmmmmmmmm

I never mute. I just ignore what's not worth my time. If someone is rude or confrontational towards me, I just pretend they aren't or assume that I'm misinterpreting their attitude because it didn't carry well over text.

Mute them, if I see them on the Forum again I assume it's an alt. Insta-mute.

1 ReplyI never had that experience, since I follow Wheaton's Law on here and it has helped me circumvent the...less cordial of members. I feel you get you give, so I give everyone respect and they give the same back.

First off, I don't let it bother me. If the rudeness goes so far as to be insulting, I'll report the user. If, based on the interaction so far, I don't think the user will ever have anything meaningful to say, I'll mute the user.

1 ReplyI have recently taken to calling them out for stupidity which always leads to their attempts to redeem themselves, often with humiliating results for them. It is entertaining. The smart/ not-selfish approach, however, would be to ignore the person.
