I'm sure a lot of people are in the same boat as me. I'm horribly ignorant when it comes to buying a car. I don't know what determines if the car is a good price, a fair deal, or even in good condition.
What do you look for in a car before you consider buying it? Share your tips.

Edited by Gary: 5/17/2014 1:42:59 AMAsk if you can take the inside paneling off of the doors. Last time I was going to buy a car, it had weed in there. Lots of it. The guy was going to sell me the car, use me to get the weed across state lines, steal it back, sell the weed, then probably sell the car again. Maybe repeating the process with some other schlub. OT: Check state auctions. Crown Victorias go pretty cheap. They run well. People will, generally, leave it alone, because the state doesn't repaint them, and they'll think you're a cop. Gas mileage could definitely be better, but you could spend as little as $500.00 on the car itself.
