Lets be real here. Any soldier who voluntarily enlists is a sheep who blindly accepts whatever media and government tells them to be truth.

  • I'm planning on joining the Navy after college for a couple of reasons: -The town I'm living isn't really good for my health. A lot of dust here is being picked up on a daily basis because of farmland. I was planning on joining to get away from that and hopefully get placed in a city like Seattle or Tacoma. -My friend and uncle encouraged me to join. My uncle served in Vietnam as an E-5, and served his 20 years becoming an E-9. He was drafted though. Overall, while he was at Vietnam, he didn't really see too much action, and he "enjoyed" being there, with enjoyed being a relative adjective. There are more, but I'm not going to make a very long list on why I was planning on joining. China would sue me to get their wall back if I did.

  • Joining the U.S. military meant something completely different in previous wars, and eras. I thought about enlisting for a while but I couldn't do it with a conscience any more. (The Navy base in Washington is located in Bremerton by the way, which has a 45 minute ferry ride to Seattle)

  • Depends on the MOS for me. I'm not looking for an active combat role; I'm looking somewhere along the lines to fit my future degree. I'm basically taking next semester for my last of the prerequisites and just 2 semesters of biology classes, and I get my BS degree in Biology to go along with my AS degree in Animal Science. I guess I'll leave my ASVAB score to decide for that. I've been on a ferry ride in Washington State before. It's very relaxing. Sounds like another positive thing for me.

Alright you've won me over. We can be best buddies now, you win. I live in Seattle so if you get stationed here I'll give you the tour.
