btw Im bck!
-
Your feet carry you down the way to the southern ice fields. The adventure you seek is not yet in your sight, but two travellers in fur coats are.
-
I cautiously approach the travelers
-
They greet you and one of them asks: "What'cha doin' dwarf? Heading south in only a chainmail?"
-
"I am after fame and great dwarven glory!" I ask about any tasks they need help with.
-
"Nope, we just came back from huntin'." He answers and the other one asks: "May I interest 'ye in som' polar bear fur?"
-
I ask how much he'll charge me.
-
"How 'bout... 12 golden coins?", he asks with a light smirk.
-
"I'm sorry, but I don't think I have that. How about a quest?"
-
You can check your money, inventory and status - later on party members too - at any time given in non combat scenarios. Also you can choose to look around providing you an overview and examine giving you more detailed information about people and objects.
The first one wanted to explain: "Well, no as I alread-" "Shaddup!", shouted the one who wanted to trade with you at his companion. "Ye can get us som' mor' fur. We also pay fo' grease, teeth, claws... whatever 'ye can get offa bear... Except fo' the bones."
-
I think to myself and examine the area around me for tracks, "Where should I meet you when I'm done?"
-
It's snowing lightly. The path in far ahead divides into two smaller trails. In the horizon you can recognise a few icebergs. "Meet us at the Brookwood tavern in the afternoon. We're always there at that time.", the first one says.
-
"Fine, then good sirs I am off to hunt!" I take the path to the trails
-
"Good Hunt!", both of them say as you go off. You eventually reach the fork of the path. The left one seems to be idle, while the right trail shows distinct footsteps in the snow.
-
I examine the footsteps of the right trail
-
You realise that these are the footsteps of the travellers you just met before. There isn't anything to further recognise about them.
-
"Hmm, if this is where they came from there probably isn't much left to hunt." I turn to the left trail and start to walk, all the while searching for evidence of animal life.
-
It increasingly gets colder and the snowfall continously intensifies but you are able see footsteps on the ground - Unfortunately you can't tell if these are from a bear or another animal.
-
shivers, "Ughh, I need to find something, anything to keep me warm." I follow the footsteps.
-
The footsteps become more distinct - you can tell that it is an animal with claws. You reach a cave. Snow and ice still stretches far in it. You can tell that this won't be a warm place.
-
I test my footing on the ice and listen for any signs of life.
-
Your footing is stable, but you can't walk fast because of the deep snow. You hear a deep growling soaring through the cave. Bloodstains appear more frequently the further you enter the cave
-
I slowly travel further on. I grip the handle of my sword tightly. I prepare for the worst.
-
It was indeed what you initially wanted it to be; a polar bear. It forced the loudest growl out of its lungs while it was standing up, easily being five times bigger than you.
-
I may not have much time to make the first strike. Thinking carefully I try to decipher some weak points to strike. When I think I have found one I swing my sword as mighty as my dwarven arms can handle it.
