How would you handle sex offenders
Specifically child molesters.
Often these men and women are repeat offenders, and their victims suffer the rest of their lives as a result. Now, before you say they should be executed, jailed for life etc... Do you think that this is a crime that warrants death, or life imprisonment? After all, sexual assault against an adult often is 10 or so years. If a child molester serves their time, shouldn't they be treated like any other person who did wrong and was rehabilitated?
I will with hold my opinion until later. I'd like to see where the Sunday Flood is on this first.

Clearly it is terrible, but I have not been around it or felt the emotion from the crime. Though if someone did it to my child, I would likely kill them. (the molester, not my child) Likely, but I am still unsure.

While molestation is bad, it is nowhere nearly as bad as rape. Life in prison for touching someone doesn't fit the crime.

I'm all for a three strikes rule, but if it's something that bad, I would say we'll shorten this to a two strikes. If they mess up twice, we should castrate them and mark them with a brand of shame. This brand of shame should be visible to everyone 24/7 because that's a little intense, but if they remove a shirt or something, it should be.

Neither, however, do I believe in the death penalty. They should be sentenced to life in prison. That being said, I'm pretty sick and tired of people saying they should be castrated. Most people don't understand that molestation (and r@pe in general) is as much about power as it is sexual. I'm not convinced that castration (or any other method of inhibiting their sex drive) would do any good.

Castration (by Smi's manly hands) Public announcement of their crimes to all prison inmates. If they make it 1 month without dying, then execution.

2 RepliesChild molesters? if there's a age difference greater than 5 years they get Prison for life, difference greater than 20? death. Sex offenders in general? I wouldn't deal with anything other than -blam!-, and even then, it would be a thorough investigation. the reason? pissing in public is classified as a sexual offence and men are registered as sex offenders for as little as that.

3 RepliesThey are the lowest of the low, only problem is I really don't automatically associate conviction with guilt in the US, so I can't really support harsh penalties for anything, knowing that whatever sentence chosen is likely being applied to plenty of innocent people that doesn't deserve it.

For men: torturing, then execution. For women, or more specifically their "victims"... [i]nice[/i]. This is how society wants it anyway. IMO, anyone who sexually abuses anyone below the age of 13 should be met with extremely harsh punishment, but I don't think a 19-year-old should be put on the sexual predators list for having sex with a 17-year-old.

Big trouble is they are 13 or below and its consensual. With varying punishments based on age are we talking 13 and 18 or 13 and 35 with the bigger the age gap the more severe the penalty and the younger the child the more severe the penalty definitely going all the way up to life in prison. Beaten to death by a dildo bat if they were 13 or below and it was forced. Age gap doesn't matter and child's age doesn't matter.
