-Even without texture filtering, the Nintendo DS version looks night and day better than the N64 version with much more detailed textures as well as higher polygon models for the characters and level designs. The refresh never strays from its 30 frames-per-second rate, though there are occasional bouts of scenery pop-in distant items.
-150 stars to collect
-Four playable characters
-More than two dozen touch-screen, dual-screen mini-games
-Wireless multiplayer for four players (single cartridge)
-Improved graphics
-Portable
-"No analog stick", now that the 3ds/3dsxl has released you can play with the circle pad which is basically the same thing.
-Aesthetics changed so it fits in with the modern style for Mario games (although this is just down to preference)
The one thing the original does have is that it is less pixelated (although the DS isn't too pixelated either). Oh and I forgot you can play the original on a large tv screen (Yes I know that there is the 3ds Xl/dsi Xl but it isn't big as a tv obviously, the ds version is meant to be portable though, it is down to preference really).
Now prove me wrong.
Now prove me wrong.
Why? The point is that it's supposed to be better in every single way. There's no argument here, and I don't think there ever was. So what pushed you to even make this thread?
-
Of course it looks better.. Heck we can play san andreas on out cell phones now and even that version looks way better than the original.
-
It just needs an N64 controller.
-
Prefer playing games on a TV, however, the content on the DS version seems worth giving it a try.
-
I disagree. Many of the additions they made didn't really benefit the game as well as they could of, wasted potential from my perspective.
-
Prefered it on the N64, it was my first proper game so i grew to love everything about it, aswell as the console on the whole
-
Agreed.

Well, content wise, obviously DS is far ahead. To me though, 64 just feels better to play. Also, I believe the 3DS still thinks the circle pad is a d-pad in DS games. It's still better than using the d-pad, but it's not perfect.
