I really hope your speculation is right. 343i seems to be the better story tellers over Bungie.

I truly do hope that's sarcasm or just shit-posting.....because that is the farthest from the truth you can possibly get. 343i are [i]not[/i] better story tellers, they're far worse, certainly when it comes to Halo at least. 343i's Halo stories and additions to the series are nothing but pure garbage, they trample all over existing canon [i]or[/i] are filled with things that don't belong in the series at all.

I know for a fact that I would, not as good as Bungie, naturally, because no one can do a series the [i]exact[/i] same way as the original writers or keep it perfectly in tune with that or as a natural extension of their work. But I'd do a damn better job at it than 343i, and I know of plenty of other fans as well who'd be far better at it.

Well I won't be able to think of one right here on the spot, and I hadn't really thought too much about what I would do as the main plot for a continuation of the whole entire story. Primarily what I would have like right here and now is the small kind of details for providing setting and backdrop rather than a main plot. If I had been the one writing anything after Halo 3, I probably would have let things sit longer than 343i have before jumping back into Master Chief, and probably wold have had the whole series taking a bit of down-time/time-off so that fans don't get tired of it or have the series wear out its welcome with the fans. I could probably tell you more on the spot about what I'd do to make the story(ies) that 343i has going on right now either better or more in tune with the lore (especially since that's kind of something I'm already doing in fanfic, albeit one that's not just Halo by itself but a multi-crossover story) than I could coming up with my own original plot to continue things right here and now.

Nope, try fact. Literal "gods" that can shit all over the laws of physics and reality doing whatever the -blam!- they want to (Precursors/3fail3idiocy!Flood) have absolutely no place whatsoever in Halo and absolutely [i]do not[/i] belong in the series. Halo is a series that is strictly sci-fi and with a heavy basis in reality, that is how it has always been and always will be....things that turn it into sci-fantasy have absolutely no place in the series. This is not Warhammer 40K and turning it into the same genre is not acceptable. Nor is the fact that 343i has been shitting all over canon every single step of the way. Chief, Cortana, Lord Hood, Halsey, Mendez, the Didact especially and in particular, and pretty much every other character that existed before 343i took over behaving grossly and completely out of character. Canon events and characters being misrepresented to force a viewpoint that is completely and totally false. Treating ONI like a Mary Sue and having them able to do whatever the -blam!- they want to whoever they want and whenever they want regardless of the chain of command and what laws are on the books.....the list goes on and -blam!-ing on, everything I just said barely even scratches the surface of these issues and what is wrong with everything that 343i is doing.

I don't like 343's post human covenant war story. But Greg Bear's forerunner saga is eons better written and more interesting than most lore in halo. It's actually what sets halo's lore apart from your generic sci-fi.
