So Gentlemen, here is were we stand! Helmets on - or Helmets of at our leisure?
Summery
So we choose, a race, a class. But what good is our race if behind a mask? If there is any facial customization weather it be hair, and face type or more, what would it mater if you wear a Helmet that fully covers your face? Sure probably different voice overs, but I believe your race would be a bit of a joke then.
So in my view, shouldn't we be able to show of our characters face if we please?

1 ReplyI would definitely prefer the ability to show/hide my helmet, a bit akin to the original Mass Effect. Or, quite possibly have it so that the helmet doesn't have any effect (Though I highly doubt that would be too terribly fun). But if I put time into picking race, facial features, and hair style/color, I want to see it. Especially if I'm in third person.

1 ReplyI think if it is similar to Halo and you have energy shields then yes we should be able to do that. If they do have haircuts I want a curly hair style to pick from!

1 ReplyIt appears you just broke the poll. Anyway, to be able to remove your helmet in the city would make sense. There's been a number of NPCs shown off who have faces. But, then again, it wouldn't be a massive deal breaker if helmets were always on.

1 ReplyFreedom! I love my hair, and my good looks! Both in-game and IRL! Helmets are handy in space, where there is no air, or for throwing at badguys when you are out of ammo!

I feel that out in the field, the helmet needs to stay on, but inside the walls of the city, the helmet may come off should you want it to.

1 ReplyEdited by UphillMercury: 11/19/2013 12:22:35 PMGiven what we know about facial customization at the moment, there may not even be much of a need to take your helmet off. Furthermore, the fact that the moon has a tenuous atmosphere at best, Mars has a thin atmosphere incapable of sustaining human life, and Europa has a tenuous oxygen atmosphere that is very cold, more than half of the confirmed locations would kill you without a sealed suit and helmet with breathing apparatus on. Venus has some plant life in concept art, suggesting it is significantly terraformed from the inhospitable planet we know it as, but whether the atmosphere is capable of sustaining human life is unknown. The only location where we would be able to take it off with 100 % certainty would be Earth, but even at that, wearing a helmet in a combat situation would be more realistic and practical than not. Unless there is something to merit taking the helmet off, I say keep it on.

1 ReplyDo we have to take a shower with our helmets on?

3 RepliesIf the helmets are as customizable as the trailers and concept art make me believe, I see no reason to customize what is under said helmet.

3 RepliesYour spelling....

2 RepliesYes, in the tower. But the animation of you removing your helmet on the moon might be interesting ;)
-
1 ReplyMaybe. It might be cool to have no helmet, but it also might look stupid. But why not make it an optional option like when customizing just click "remove helmet". It's that simple.

I think there may be helmets that dont fully cover your face so that you can show of with your beautiful face
