Learning and teaching kids good habits of grammar on a high-level early on would be beneficial in the long run since they have years of middle and high school to perfect those skills before university, in courses such as Social Studies/History, Chemistry and Physics (lab reports), and word problems in math.

Or, you can do what they do now, and teach kids langual skills in elementary school, and continually teach those skills until they graduate from high school.
