So basically without their armor, Spartan IV's are just regular humans?

Nope. Bones are infused with a substance that makes them nearly unbreakable. Muscles are injected with a material that allows them to work harder without breaking the subject's skeleton. Corneal implants are provided to improve night vision. Heart is implanted with a synthetic weave which significantly increases its capacity to pump blood, allegedly allowing a SPARTAN-IV to "outrun a horse". Lungs are lined with a polymer that enhances oxygen intake and allows them to process toxins or foreign gas mixtures, potentially allowing a SPARTAN-IV to breathe methane for around an hour. Intestinal bacteria are altered to enable the digestive system to absorb more nutrients out of food. Pancreas is replaced by a completely new, vat-grown organ. Blood is altered to allow for faster clotting.

They're trained marines. Some of them are ODSTs, given training even harsher than what the IIs went through.

False, the Spartan IIs were pitted against both Marines and ODSTs in the childhood as training. ODST training does not match the lengths Spartan IIs or IIIs went to in order to earn the namesake of Spartan.

The point stills stand that children in the Spartan programme could beat experienced marines, those kids are masters of all trades of wars by the time they are augmented, by the time they reach the age of one of those marines they are simply machines of war perfect at what they do.

Edited by Lord Keksworth: 10/17/2013 10:36:12 PMAll aspects? Not really. They were mainly meant for stealthy insertions into Insurrectionist bases to assassinate leaders. It's their armor that lets them go up against enemies in straight-on combat. If they're perfect at what they do, then none of them would have died, would they? And now there's only four left.
