Final Fantasy XIV Price Confusion

Hey #Gaming, I don't really play MMO's so I don't understand how the subscription payment works. Here it gives me the prices for the monthly payment, but at the end it has a "Subscription length". What is that? Aren't I paying for the subscription monthly? And why does the payments get higher when the subscription length gets shorter? I'm still paying on a monthly basis to play so what does "Subscription length" even mean?

 • It works like this. It is saying that per month you pay less. So if you set yourself in for 180 days or 6 months, you pay 13 a month instead of 15. You'll probably end up paying 78 dollars up front which would have you save money over time. But that's for the better servers, if you are just getting into the game I'd suggest entry level which is even cheaper but only 1 character per server. That said I'm no FF expert so something else would have to help you with the specific differences of the servers, or rather whether or not it's worth getting. I just know basic MMO pricing. Entry is the well, entry level and it's just 12 a month. Standard is a bit better and it's basically a month 15, 3 months 14 a month, 6 months, 13 a month. Almost certain you pay these up front but it may be ala contract-esque where you will automatically be charged the price monthly. My money's on the former.
