Bungie learned how to properly balance a highly-competitive FPS.
I'm curious to see how they'll go about balancing Destiny's competitive multiplayer, because from what we can tell our characters and loadouts are the same in both competitive and cooperative play.

That's an interesting stance mainly because you're always juggling with "balance" issues. How will players be able to carry the same weapons, armor and skills seamlessly into PvP while still keeping the sandbox, "fair"? That's a question that is probably being addressed on a daily basis.
