People love competitive multiplayer, and halo 2 and 3 are the epitome of competitive fps. I hope they can recreate a hardcore competitive multiplayer experience in destiny, because that is what will keep people coming back for 10 years.

Do you think that's the "glue" that kept many friends playing over the years? While I quite enjoy competitive multiplayer myself, I am looking forward to how Bungie combines the elements of story players within the same world of competitive folks. We all have our reasons, but ultimately playing with friends trumps everything else for me.

The "glue" to me wouldn't be just the balanced competitive hardcore FPS aspect, but definitely the community that this hardcore aspect created. Thats the glue. The community that became because of the hardcore competitive FPS aspect.

Yeah, I loved many games for their story, but halo 2&3 I still play with my friends. It's the simplistic, but extremely competitive style that kept me playing. I was actually playing halo 3 online with two friends last night so I'm all nostalgic right now.
