The only shouts I was disappointed with were frost breath and fire breath. They were cool when you were a low level, but when you get to a higher level they are pretty useless =/

ATTENTION: There is a mod on the Skyrim Nexus called Thunderchild. It adds the Improved Shouts mod in with BRAND NEW shouts that do a variety of different things. Go check it out if you think vanilla shouts suck, all shouts are fairly lore friendly as well and the mod doesn't hand them to you either, you have to work for them. Also I recommend trying it with SkyRe by getting the compatibility patch IF you have SkyRe, your shouts will get stronger through Speechcraft and be awesome at the same time. You're welcome.

Unrelenting Force, Become Ethereal, and Marked for Death are all awesome and need little/no explaining. Kyne's Peace is useful if you're wandering the wild and don't like bears, wolves, and cats every two second. Whirlwind Sprint is a good way to get the f##k away from a heavy hitter that's beating the hell outta you and you need a breather or to close in on a spellcaster/archer(though Become Ethereal is probably a better choice for the job). Aura whisper is good for finding my horse when it runs off during battle and that's about it(guess it could be used to scope out enemy camps but that's not really my thing).

After 5 days of play time I dont think I used a single shout seriously, only on accident. They were all useless.
-
3 Replieswell Ulfric was able to shout the high king into pieces, so wtf is with el dragonborn only being able to push them?
-
2 RepliesI have a shout that throws my voice.
-
Agree on frost breath and fire breath. Seems weird that crappy old Destruction magic is more powerful than the shouts.
-
PC master race for the win.
-
I'm modded to shit. I love my shouts. But Fire Breathe needs to be stronger
-
I expect a lot of eHatred at this statement, but I was very disappointed with the Storm shout. Not necessarily because of the power itself. No, it's the fact that a random Hunter or guard will be milling about in the middle of the wilderness while I cast this spell. Lightning obliterates everything around me as usual in an evil laugh worthy fashion until a bounty is accrued for murder. I become quite disappointed... but then I recall how filthy rich my character is and continue my miscellaneous adventure whilst wistling a happy tune.

The shouts were always so weak anyways. I just hack and slashed.
-
not really. I only use the main shout and with Skyrim mods on pc and all the 1000+ new magic spells I can get it makes up for it.
-
Most sucked. Fus ro dah was the only one I enjoyed using. tfw all that hard work for lvl 3 storm shout and it's terrible
-
2 RepliesWell i hated how whenever i fus ro dahed someone off a mountain they wouldn't die. I feel like enemies were almost immune from fall damage
-
I only used one shout the one that detects life. Not a fan of shouts.
-
I primarily found myself using the stereotypical "Fus Ro Dah". I didn't even bother with finding all of the shouts.
-
I barely used any of them save Fire Breath and Unrelenting Force. The others were kind of just...unlockable names to me.
-
Most of them were pretty useless. I only ever used one or two.
-
4 RepliesEdited by NooneSpecial: 8/26/2013 12:34:29 AMyeah, I actually use the elemental fury shout. use that with a sword in your right hand and a dagger in your left hand and you'll take down any enemy in a matter of seconds. Provided you enchant and fully upgrade all your weapons first
-
The cooldowns were way too long for most of them. I only ever use shouts when I use the amulet of talos glitch to get unlimited shouts.
-
1 ReplyI primarily only used unrelenting force. I had Lydia follow me to the top of the throat of the world and sent her flying off with it. I repeated that for hours.
-
Some of them are pretty good. Cyclone from the Dragonborn DLC was fun and obviously nothing beats Unrelenting force.
-
I find it annoying that when I yell OV! at my boss nothing happens.
-
I only used Unrelenting force and Dragon Rend. All others seemed pointless.
-
I found shouting extremely under-powered in the game.
-
I never play a character long enough to unlock more than a few first lvl shouts 8(
