Why does reading creepypasta scare you more than watching a horror movie? I'm reading Sonic.EXE and I'm getting teary-eyed just typing this. As I read the story I imagine something watching me through my window or a pair of hands grabbing my legs from underneath the chair. Yet when I watch Jacob's Ladder I'm fine. As a horror enthusiast I find this every bit as interesting as it is scary. It's like reading a story does a better job at scaring you because it requires you to use your imagination to visualize what's happening in the story. When you use your imagination; psychological horror is the worst. You really gotta give credit to creepypasta for scaring the shit out of me after all else fails. That, and SCP-087.
