Did I post here already? Meh. Excuse me while I don't get my PS eye and enjoy my $400 console. And free monthly games. With boatloads of discounts. On a console that isn't spying on me.

  • Oh look, someone who is scared and accusational. The Xbox One has free monthly games and discounts and one subscription of Gold per console. I just destroyed your whole comment. Turn the Kinect around and you won't have to worry about it looking at you while it is off. Here is a read... Have a look... That was a man challenge, here you go.. The new Kinect is worth more than 100 dollars in my opinion. There are just so many advantages and features that are going to enhance the overall experience of gaming. Like turning the console on/off with a simple voice command for one. Another would be the ability to not have to navigate through menus till you finally get to the one you want, all you simply have to do is say the name of what you want and it’ll appear instantly. Ex: I can be in a game or at the home screen or anywhere else within the X1 and I could say for instance, “Netflix” or “Hulu Plus”, and the menu will switch straight to the app. This also allows for an advantage and experience that I would have loved for a long time (ex: if I’m playing a game that has hidden items or achievements throughout the campaign and I need to find all of them so I can earn an achievement for it, I could say “Xbox, Youtube”, and the game would pause and instantly switch to youtube where I can look up how and where to find what I’m looking for and then I could say “resume game” and it will instantly switch back to where I left off without the need to reload the level. Or I could put the youtube screen on the sidebar and view the video while I’m playing the game so I can play along and easily get a 100% completion walk through. There are more features and advantages below that I will integrate within the post. Another cool advantage and experience that some of the developers for Microsoft said was the ability of voice commands and words to free up the controller for more things to do that aren’t limited by the controllers button count. (For example, if I were playing Skyrim, I would no longer need to favorite items, weapons, and spells so I could go into the pop-up menu to select one of my favorites and use it and then do the same process over to select back my other weapon. All I would have to do is say “fireball” and my character would pull out his fireballs. Lol. Or “Glass Sword” and my character would pull out his Glass Sword. Lol. It would free up the left bumper for a different use that might give the player more of an experience. An example for an all Kinect game: Let’s say they finally make a good Dragon Ball Z Kinect game that functioned properly and I got all into it and I was beating the crap out of Majin Buu and my power level was up enough so that I could back up and shout “Kamehameha” and Goku shot one out. Or I could slowly say it with my arms behind my side and say “KA—ME—HA—ME—HA!!!” and while I was saying that, Goku would charge up his attack to a x2 kamehameha for a stronger damage bonus. That would be cool to anyone. One more thing… Microsoft wants the Kinect to be big, and it has the potential to do so or else they wouldn’t be pushing so hard on it, just look at Project Milo, that was 4 years ago and today it seems like some advanced technology that is impossible to create. That project has the potential to bring us a real life Cortana within the next ten years. But the only way for publishers to make good content for the Kinect, everyone needs to have one and like it, and I think the new features might buy the hearts of a lot of people once they try it. One issue that is probably the main argument now is the fact that the Xbox One always needs to be connected to an online source or internet within a 24 hour period and that issue alone is the reason many people are going with the PS4. But the common misconception is the fact that both the consoles are going to need it in order to be next-generation material. If you go and look at all of the E3 conferences: Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA, and even Sony, almost every single game that is coming out for the next-gen needs an online connection in order to give the full experience that the game was intended to bring. For example: DESTINY(the whole reason why we are all here. Could you imagine exploring an entire solar system with millions of places to visit all by yourself, that would get pretty lonely, not to mention boring since you’ve got no one to talk to during your flights to other planets, share your enthusiasm for the loot you just collected, or share what your new Guardian looks like (that’s the whole reason why we are allowed to customize our character, to show him or her off). Another game would be The Division, Ubisofts new epic game which takes place in a living world where it is updated daily with new experiences and opportunities to rob stores and gain supplies, or have a buddy fly in overhead and wreak havoc upon an overpowering force of scavengers and looters. This requires a connection to the cloud or internet all the time or else the game couldn’t be given the opportunity to evolve. In both games new places will be added to visit and DLC will come out that will require an internet connection to obtain. Other games that I could name off the top of my head are: Metal Gear Solid 5 (for the online multiplayer because it’s unique and very fun to play) ((from Metal Gear 4 standpoint)), RYSE, Titanfall (an all multiplayer game) Sunset Overdrive, Dragon Age Inquisition (for epic DLC), BattleFront, Grand Turismo 6, Forza5, Need For Speed, Project Spark, Battle Field 4(multiplayer), Call of Duty Ghosts(multiplayer, because no one buys it for the campaign), and INDIES… Most of the new and coming later Indies all need to be downloaded, and that requires a connection, so good luck buying a PS4 for Indies and not having an internet connection to get them. The future is connected through and to the internet and with the next-gens, the internet makes them. Without it they won’t be next-generation material. One more topic to move onto is the game- used, sharing, and selling features that the consoles have. Sony and its PS4 are using the disk swap method which is still used today, though for me it is very inconvenient because I’ve been waiting for a month to play my friends Assassins Creed III. Anyways, the method allows for the current way of selling, sharing, and using games today, which works and will still work for a long time to come. BUT, within the next few years, everything is going to be digital, I thought it was going to happen sooner, but Microsoft seems to be pushing for it more than anyone else. Going digital means no more hard copies of anything including: movies, games, music, and still yes, TV. I know it sound ridiculous and I’m still a bit scared of it too, but that’s where it is all headed. Look at iTunes for example, at first it was a stupid idea, (or that’s what everyone thought) but then it took off and now practically nobody buys a song or album in stores. It would be weird and out of place now of days to see someone with a CD player in hand and a backpack full of albums and CD’s that they might listen to later, and then see them put the CD player down, unzip the backpack and switch the CD’s just to here a good song that that particular band might have played and composed. It’s unnatural now. But back then, iTunes was unnatural. Just like how digital gaming is unnatural to us now, but it might surprise us and become the norm over the man swapping disks and switching menus for minutes to get to where they want to be. Back to the main topic, Xbox is going to use the digital method and they are the first to do this in the gaming console industry. (PC has already done this pretty much, but Microsoft and the XBOX One are going to try to be more convenient). With Digital gaming, there has to be restrictions in order to keep people to keep people from pirating and distributing their games to everyone for a free download. If the restrictions were not imposed, then the Publishers and Producers of the Products would be deeply impacted and there would be no money intake or profit to allow for further game creation and updates. Yes, it may be a pain but it’s a small one. Other restrictions may include the need to be online; the XBOX ONE will need it once every 24 hours so it can check for any digital loopholes that people might use. Another and the same restriction would be the check to see if someone were to sell their game to one of their friends. The online check would see if you sold the copy so that you couldn’t keep playing a game that you sold away, which is completely understandable and works in the manner of how things are bought and sold physically somewhat today. An upside to the restrictions that Microsoft will do to earn some of the hearts of the people who get turned off by the non-physical distribution of sharing and using games is the new ability to designate 10 of your friends on your friends list or anybody on your console as family members which will give everyone on that the list the ability to play your ENTIRE LIBRARY FOR FREE. (Including Music Library, and Video Library, I think) I for one think that’s 10 times better than sharing your disk with 1 person and not being able to play it while they have it. See what I did there. Digital gaming is the future and Sony is realizing this too, which is why they are expanding their server network to be comparable to the 300,000 servers the X1 will be backed up by over the cloud. Also Sony upgraded the PSEYE to be comparable to the Kinect in some fashion because they know it’s going to become bigger and more convenient to the majority of the population. The comment cut off here because of too many characters so I would give you more but I bet you couldn't make it to the end.

  • You just posted on another thread saying it doesn't matter what people get. So why comment on this one or even open it up?
