Eh, it's not too bad. Bungie just needs to keep giving us tools to work with and we'll find a new use for private groups.

  • As Cortana said, a lot of private groups were set up simply because certain topics couldn't be discussed on the mains or because there wasn't enough interest in said topics to perpetually keep the subject on the front page of the mains. Bungie.next changed all that, and with that pillar yanked out from beneath those Private Groups, it's no wonder they collapsed. We'll get our Group Features eventually, I'm okay with waiting.

  • While yes some private groups were used for that purpose, I'm not denying that, but many were not created for that purpose. There have been various gaming, art, music, etc groups over the years. Along with more off topic groups that were more fun, for lack of a better term, and have become notable communities within this site (TFS, Sociopaths United, etc for example. Sapphire is cancer, so I dare not list it, but it is another example.). They all had their own communities and made friends and other various things that would not have happened on the mains.
