Shields & Health

Aye aye to shields

Nay to shields, health bars are all I need

Who still uses health bars, make damage realistic

Shields that can be equipped

Considering most sci-fi shooters have some sort of shield implemented in the game, would you want to see a shield in Destiny? If not, would a more "realistic" damage system like in BF3 or, dare I say it, COD, be better in this case? Health bars are also an option. Personally, I think a permanent recharging shield would work best. One idea could be that you pick up a shield, but once its broken during combat, you'll have to get a new one. Basically, non-recharchable shields once they're broken. If its only partially depleted from combat, a period without combat will recharge it (as in 2-3 minutes or less). Gimme your thoughts

  • I don't know you guys... I'm kinda over shields. They've been done to death. Borderlands' shields were fun, but they really felt like candy rather than anything tactically relevant. Keeping with the more serious tone of the game, I'd prefer less variety or no shields at all, particularly if health correlates to speed. I actually think the idea of shields that burn out are really cool. I want a reason to avoid firefight or rushing into battle half cocked. In Halo I just run and toss grenades repeatedly until things die. I don't have to play smart, so I'd like the incentive here.
